Why Social Entrepreneurship is the way forward with Gabriel Saunders

Gabriel Saunders, the son of Deputy Premier Hon. Erwin Jay Saunders, Founder of Decomp, and Social Entrepreneur shared on the season finale of Bourne to Lead  that pursuing social entrepreneurship is the way forward to creating  more affluence for Turks and Caicos Islanders. Many are saying "we are Not living our best life" in the Turks and Caicos Islands and Gabriel  believes a solution to this is creating business incubators for aspiring entrepreneurs to develop their business ideas and grow them into lucrative globally recognized companies. Gabriel also shared his journey with Decomp and the company being a better solution to plastic waste pollution. Decomp has received some international awards since its founding and recently was selected as the winner of the Commission for Environmental  Cooperation's Youth Innovation Challenge, representing Canada. The company was awarded $15,000 in non-dilutive seed funding. During the interview, Mr. Saunders advocated for the expansion of the MSME program as it is needed for locals to nurture their creative ideas. Mr. Saunders also shared his views on Climate Change, and the advice Honorable Norman Saunders gave him as a child. L.T. The Birth of The Wellington Collection with Wellington Wiliams

I've had the pleasure of speaking with some of the greatest leaders, thinkers and creatives of our generation. I have found similar patterns in all of their stories. One in particular is an early sign of their "soon to be" greatness; most of the greats begin to exhibit behavioral traits that aligns with their purpose at an early age. This is why I believe some of these individuals were Born to Lead. Wellington Williams is no different from these "Bourne to Lead" individuals; from an early age he demonstrated his desire to create jewelry and products, and today he owns a store with his brand on it in Grace Bay, Turks and Caicos Islands all before  the age of 30. I enjoyed listening to Wellington talk about his  journey into entrepreneurship. His story wasn't all sunshine and rainbows, Wellington had to overcome some obstacles as well, namely rejection from large hotels who wouldn't give his products a try. In this interview he also shared his thoughts on the controversial "wages high school graduates should be paid" comment he made. We also talked  about his experience being an Dominican-Turks Islander.  L.T.
