    Will Trump's New Unqualified US Attorney REALLY Indict James Comey and Leticia James?

    Shortly after his inauguration for his second term, Trump named Erik Siebert to be the US Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia (EDVA). Siebert then spent months investigating New York Attorney General Leticia James and former FBI Director James Comey. Apparently finding no evidence supporting criminal charges, Siebert refused to indict those two Trump enemies. A furious Trump then erupted on social media demanding prosecutions of his enemies. Siebert resigned and Trump named an insurance lawyer and former beauty pageant contestant, Lindsay Halligan, as the new US Attorney for EDVA. And it now looks like Halligan may actually try to indict James Comey for allegedly lying to congress five years ago. The question is: Can Halligan find a federal prosecutor unethical enough to indict Comey, simply because Trump is demanding an indictment? Glenn explains the likely consequences and results of that vindictive prosecution.     In a social media post that's more befitting of Kim Jong Un, Trump directed Pam Bondi to prosecute his enemies "NOW!!!" Trump wrote: "Pam: I have reviewed over 30 statements and posts saying that, essentially, “same old story as last time, all talk, no action. Nothing is being done. What about Comey, Adam “Shifty” Schiff, Leticia??? They’re all guilty as hell, but nothing is going to be done. . . We can’t delay any longer, it’s killing our reputation and credibility. They impeached me twice, and indicted me (5 times!), OVER NOTHING. JUSTICE MUST BE SERVED, NOW!!! President DJT" This post, together with a mountain of other evidence demonstrating Trump's vindictiveness, will give Trump's enemies much ammunition to raise a vindictive and selective prosecution defense.     Using Our Economic Power to Fight's Trump's First Amendment Crackdown!

    After Disney and ABC felt the economic pressure and changed course, agreeing to put Jimmy Kimmel back on air, Sinclair and Nexstar stepped in and said they would not allow their ABC affiliate stations to air Kimmel's show. As the BBC reported, Nexstar and Sinclair, which together run dozens of stations affiliated to ABC, said they would continue to replace the (Kimmel) show with regular programming Tuesday. But the people who believe in the free speech protection of the First Amendment can use their economic power to impact this decision. If people tune in to their local ABC station at 11:30 pm, and see that the station is NOT airing the show, then make a note of all the advertisers running commercials on the replacement show and don't support them.. Conversely, if you see your local ABC affiliate IS airing Kimmel, make a note of the advertisers running commercials on during Kimmel and SUPPORT those advertisers and products. This is how we can wield our economic power in support of free speech and against a lawless Trump regime.     Federal Judge THROWS OUT Donald Trump's Defamation Complaint Against The New York Times

    In a four-page court order that is one for the ages, Judge Steven Merryday "struck" for the record Donald Trump's complaint that he filed in his absurd $15 billion defamation suit against The New York Times. Judge Merryday, appointed to the federal bench by President George H.W. Bush. eviscerates Trump's legal filing, saying it does not comport with the Rules of Civil Procedure. The judge notes: "The reader must endure an allegation of 'the desperate need to defame with a partisan spear rather than report with an authentic looking glass' and an allegation that 'the false narrative about 'The Apprentice' was just the tip of Defendants' melting iceberg of falsehoods.' Similarly, in one of many, often repetitive, and laudatory (toward President Trump) but superfluous allegations, the pleader states, 'The Apprentice' represented the cultural magnitude of President Trump's singular brilliance...'" So, yeah, the judge threw out the blathering, bloviating, nonsensical pleading, and gave Trump's lawyers 28 days to try to do it right, in accordance with the rules of procedure.     Trump Pressures DOJ to Indict NY AG Letitia James Despite Having No Evidence

    In an unsurprising abuse of presidential power, ABC News reported: "Trump officials pressuring prosecutors to bring criminal charges against New York Attorney General Letitia James". and "Trump himself has pressured the Department of Justice leadership to investigate James more aggressively (and two Trump officials) have pushed the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia to seek an indictment of James." This pressure to indict her is being applied, notwithstanding the fact that there is not "sufficient evidence supporting such charges". Glenn discusses what likely would happen in the event the Trump administrations brought a baseless, vindictive prosecution against James.     Pam Bondi is NOT Very Good At Attorney General-ing

    Hate speech is protected by the First Amendment's free speech rights. However, Attorney General Pam Bondi, either not knowing or not caring about this constitutional protection, expressly threatened to use the powers of the Department of Justice to "target" people who engage in hate speech. What's worse, when she tried to issue what some have called a "walk back", she neither corrected nor retracted her initial constitutional blunder.     Maurene Comey Sues Bondi/DOJ/Others for Unlawful Firing - She Knows What's in the Epstein Files!

    The Trump administration unlawfully and unconstitutionally fired federal prosecutor Maurene Comey, daughter of Trump's avowed enemy, former FBI Director James Comey. Maurene Comey successfully prosecuted Ghislaine Maxwell and was prosecuting Jeffrey Epstein until he turned up dead in a jail cell. She knows precisely what's in the Epstein files. Is it a coincidence that Trump and Pam Bondi fired her just six days before Trump's former criminal defense attorney, now his deputy attorney general, Todd Blanche posted that he is going to interview Maxwell about Jeffrey Epstein? She's has now sued Bondi, DOJ, and the office of the presidency for her unlawful and unconstitutional firing.
