In Relation is a limited series podcast that weaves together conversations around art, hospitality and guest-host relations happening within Open Space artist-run-centre and amongst its contributors, communities and beyond. This podcast is hosted by Toby Lawrence and programmed through Open Space Arts Society in Victoria, BC and generously supported by the Victoria Foundation Community Grant.

    Episode 6: Krista Arias, Xingona Girl Smoke

    In this final episode, New Mexico-based artist Krista Arias joins host Toby Lawrence and a live audience via Zoom to read from her collection of her poetry, Xingona Girl Smoke: the pace and posture of permission. As part of her 2021 exhibition, The Earth is my Elder, at Open Space, the evening began with an introduction to the work, followed by a screening of her video-poem Eating Our Ancestors, a selection of poems read by Krista, and Q &A.
