The Estelle Show

The Estelle Show

You might know her for her hit single “American Boy”, but Estelle—a Grammy-winning singer and accomplished actor—is an international woman. She’s one of nine siblings born in London to Grenadian and Senegalese parents, was raised musically on US gospel and hip-hop, moved to Los Angeles (for “career and peace”, she says) and has long collaborated with American peers like John Legend, Rick Ross, Kanye West and many more. On Apple Music Hits’ The Estelle Show, the singer shows off tastes that range from legends like Bob Marley, Prince and Madonna to 21st-century ground-shakers like Wizkid and Lil Wayne. But they’ve all got one thing in common: They’ve made what she considers to be some of the best music of the past few decades. "With my show," she says, "you get to go into my mind, influences and loves across the board as a kid from London to an adult now living in LA.” Listen to The Estelle Show every Monday through Friday, only on Apple Music Hits.

  • “Throughout my life music has meant a great deal to me,” His Majesty King Charles III says. “I know that is also the case for so many others. But it has that remarkable ability to bring happy memories flooding back from the deepest recesses of our memory, to comfort us in times of sadness and take us to distant places. But perhaps above all, it can lift our spirits to such a degree. All the more so when it brings us together in celebration. In other words, it brings us joy.” The King’s Music Room—exclusively on Apple Music—is where you can explore this relationship further. From his desk in his office at Buckingham Palace, His Majesty reveals a selection of his favourite songs—featuring artists stretching from crooners to Afrobeats stars, via disco divas and reggae icons. It’s a musical journey that spans 10 decades and reflects the diversity of the Commonwealth and a personal taste shaped by extraordinary experiences around the world. The King also shares stories about meeting some of these artists and reveals why the songs help form the soundtrack to his life.

  • On his namesake show and New Music Daily, Apple Music 1’s flagship shows, host Zane Lowe brings users unparalleled music knowledge with headline interviews, breaking news, and emerging music from around the globe every day. It’s become the world’s go-to for the best brand-new music, sure, but it’s also popular music’s premier confessional booth: Day after day, Zane—who’s also Apple Music’s global creative director and co-head of artist relations—gets the biggest, most elusive superstars, from Justin Bieber to Taylor Swift to Kanye West, to let their guards down—laughs, tears, and news-making quotes are the norm. “I’m a curious person, I ask questions, and I guess if I'm passionate about something, I'll talk about it and engage people about it. I want to start a conversation and learn,” Zane explains of his approach. “Because the more you share, the more you learn, and vice versa. It’s just a circle that keeps spinning.” Zane earns guests’ trust with a music obsessive’s curiosity and enthusiasm, compassionate questioning, and firsthand music knowledge of life as an artist—he started his music career recording and performing, and continues to write, produce, and record. “The artist side of it, that really drives what I do,” he explains. “I'm not a conventional media-type personality. I’m no good at being a host, really. I'm not a journalist. I don't write, I'm not a writer. What I do is feel and translate.” Check out Zane on The Zane Lowe Show every Monday through Thursday on Apple Music 1 at 9 am LA/12 pm NYC/5 pm LDN and New Music Daily every Friday at 9 am LA, 12 pm NY, and 5 pm LDN.

  • Toronto-born George “Strombo” Stroumboulopoulos firmly believes in standing up for what’s right and helping others—and sees music as a conduit that brings people together and helps them become more engaged. “I love politically charged, heavy music,” Strombo says. “I love when music uses its energy to fight for others and help its own audience to learn and grow.” As host of STROMBO on Apple Music Hits, Strombo brings over three decades of music knowledge and on-the-mic experience—whether working at a pirate radio station in the ’90s, discovering underground talent on MuchMusic’s The NewMusic in the early 2000s, holding down The Strombo Show on CBC Music, or, more recently, welcoming us into his House of Strombo for intimate live sessions with some of the world’s most storied performers. On his namesake Apple Music Hits show, he hopes to continue to bridge the gap between artist and listener. “One of the things the show leans into is making connections between the artist you know and love and the artists that they know and love,” he says. “[It’s] strong storytelling underscoring why this music matters.” Join him on Apple Music Hits Monday through Thursday and Sunday, when he brings great music, personal stories, and artist interviews to STROMBO Radio.

  • If at any time you wished you knew more about the inner workings of pianist and composer Robert Glasper, his Apple Music radio show In My Element is your justice. “The show gives me the platform to keep people in the loop of what’s happening, and it’s always new things, surprise things,” Glasper says. “It’s just kind of giving people a play-by-play of my life in that moment.” To record In My Element, Glasper is taking time out of the impossibly busy performing schedule that is his month-long “Robtober” residency at the Blue Note jazz club in NYC. That now five-year-old engagement has featured guests long revered in their respective lanes, names like Black Thought, Norah Jones, and Meshell Ndegeocello, some of whom Glasper hopes will be able to stop by for an episode. “I do so many things and there’s so much to talk about between all the different gigs that I play and different places I got to be and different projects I’m working on,” Glasper says. “A lot of people just want insight into that world, what it’s like to be Robert Glasper.”
