He Survived Fentanyl Addiction—Then Rebuilt His Entire Life | Navarone Garcia

What happens when you grow up adjacent to one of the most famous families in the world—but still have to figure out who you are? Navarone Garcia—musician, singer-songwriter, former frontman of Them Guns, and son of Priscilla Presley—joins Cristina Dam for an extraordinarily candid conversation about addiction, sobriety, family, identity, loss and reinvention. Navarone opens up about his journey from experimenting with drugs as a teenager to an addiction that eventually consumed his daily life. He shares the shocking moment he discovered the substance he believed was heroin was actually fentanyl, the exhaustion of structuring his entire life around addiction, and what happened when he finally made the decision that no intervention or rehab could make for him: he wanted to stop. His withdrawal would push him through 22 days without sleep—but on the other side was an entirely different life. Navarone also shares the remarkable story of discovering a large Brazilian family he never knew he had, the painful breakdown of his relationship with his father, returning to Brazil sober, learning Portuguese so he could communicate with his relatives, and eventually building a life between the United States and Brazil. He and Cristina also explore growing up around fame, his relationship with his mother Priscilla Presley, family loss, the end of his longtime band Them Guns, and his decision to step forward under his own name as solo artist Navarone Garcia. His latest single, “If I Could I Would Scream,” marks the beginning of that new chapter. This is a conversation about addiction—but even more, it's about identity. About discovering who you are when everything you've used to define yourself begins to fall away. And about the moment you realize no one else can make your PIVOT for you. He Lost His Career, His Body, and His Future... Then This Happened | Alan Clancy

Alan Clancy went from performing as an acrobatic dancer around the world to being told he might never walk again. After performing across Europe, Asia and Las Vegas, Alan’s life changed in an instant when he became critically ill with anthrax. He collapsed at home, his leg violently snapped, and he says he was essentially dead by the time help arrived. In this extraordinary episode of The PIVOT Show, Alan sits down with Cristina Dam to share the story of surviving the seemingly impossible—and how losing the life he knew ultimately opened the door to an entirely different purpose. Alan talks about rebuilding his body, spirituality and energy work, opening a spiritual center in Australia, and later working with people during the height of the AIDS crisis—supporting patients facing the end of their lives. But Alan's story didn't begin with tragedy. Long before his illness, he was already someone willing to challenge what other people called impossible. When he was told he was too short for a Las Vegas production, he auditioned anyway—and got the job. That determination would later become essential to his survival. Doctors said he wouldn't walk again. Alan refused to accept that as the ending of his story. This is a conversation about survival, faith, healing, death, determination and what can happen when life destroys the future you thought you were going to have. Sometimes life falling apart isn't the end. Sometimes it's the beginning of your PIVOT. 🎙️ The PIVOT Show with Cristina Dam Where life changes direction. ✨ CONNECT WITH ALAN CLANCY 🔮 BOOK A SESSION WITH ALAN Learn more about Alan's metaphysical counseling and energy-healing work or book an in-person/remote session through Liberate Emporium: Alan Clancy — Bio & Booking 🎭 ALAN'S LAS VEGAS HISTORY Alan's career as a dancer, entrepreneur and part of early Las Vegas history is preserved in the UNLV Special Collections & Archives Oral History Collection. From Addiction to Purpose: Mark Cole on Identity, Healing & Reinventing Yourself

What if addiction isn't the real problem—but a symptom of something much deeper? Filmmaker Mark Cole built a successful career as a director, producer and storyteller. Behind that success, however, was a battle with alcohol that eventually took control of his life. In this deeply vulnerable episode of The PIVOT Show, Mark sits down with Cristina Dam to share what happened when the identity, career and life he had built began falling apart—and why simply getting sober wasn't the end of his journey. Mark opens up about addiction, fear, loneliness, hitting rock bottom, recovery, spirituality, psychedelics, nervous-system healing and the difficult process of discovering who you are when everything you used to define yourself disappears. His search for healing eventually took him beyond traditional recovery and into practices including meditation, Kundalini yoga and psychedelic experiences. Mark describes one experience with ayahuasca as giving him a profound feeling of joy and freedom from the judgment and constant thinking that had followed him for much of his life. He then began exploring practices that he says helped him understand his mind, regulate himself and rebuild his relationship with his own thoughts. But this conversation isn't really about alcohol. It's about identity. Who are you when the career disappears? Who are you without the thing you've used to escape? And who could you become if you stopped allowing your past to define you? Mark's story is proof that sometimes the greatest PIVOT of your life isn't becoming someone new. It's finally discovering who you were underneath everything else. 🎙️ The PIVOT Show with Cristina Dam Where life changes direction. 🎬 CONNECT WITH MARK COLE 🎥 MARK COLE — FILM & TELEVISION Explore Mark's work as a director, producer, writer and filmmaker: Mark Cole on IMDb 💼 CONNECT WITH MARK Follow Mark's professional work and current projects: Mark Cole on LinkedIn What part of yourself would you discover if everything you thought defined you disappeared? #MarkCole #ThePivotShow #CristinaDam #AddictionRecovery #Recovery #Sobriety #Healing #Identity #PersonalGrowth #Ayahuasca #SpiritualAwakening #MentalHealth #Reinvention #Transformation

Every Pivot Started with Curiosity | Jess Furman on Reinventing Yourself

What if you stopped asking, “Am I qualified?” and started asking, “How can I learn?” Jess Furman has reinvented herself again and again—from singer-songwriter to producer, Billboard-recognized music executive, Emmy-nominated creative, entrepreneur and Web3 innovator. In this episode of The PIVOT Show, Jess sits down with Cristina Dam to reveal how curiosity became the force behind an extraordinary career of constant reinvention. Jess shares how a difficult childhood led her toward music, how she pursued her dream even when her parents wanted a different path, and what happened when promising record deals repeatedly disappeared. Eventually, she got tired of letting other people control her future. So she moved to Los Angeles, taught herself how to record and produce, and created an entirely new career. Years later, she did it again. Jess entered the world of blockchain knowing virtually nothing about it. Instead of deciding she wasn't qualified, she immersed herself, found communities, took courses, entered hackathons—and began building in a completely new industry. Her story is a powerful reminder that you don't have to stay who you've always been just because other people understand that version of you. Sometimes your next PIVOT begins with curiosity. You don't have to know everything before you begin. You just have to be willing to learn. 🎙️ The PIVOT Show with Cristina Dam Where life changes direction. One Foot In, One Foot Out Until This Happened- Anthony Samadani

What if everything you were chasing suddenly stopped mattering? Anthony Samadani built a successful career as an attorney before making an unlikely PIVOT into Hollywood as a television and film producer. But it was a frightening health crisis—and the experiences that followed—that forced him to question what success actually means. In this powerful episode of The PIVOT Show, Anthony sits down with Cristina Dam to talk about going from attorney to producer, facing his own mortality, volunteering with people in hospice, and discovering something most of us spend our lives believing we have more of: Time. His experiences changed the way he looked at ambition, purpose and the way we spend our lives. Anthony began asking a profound question: if time is the one currency we can never earn back, what are we actually spending it on? That philosophy ultimately became part of Anthony's concept of The Good Currency—using your time, talents and resources in ways that create good in your own life and in the lives of others. Today, Anthony brings that mission to Good News Network, helping amplify stories that remind us there is still extraordinary good happening in the world. This conversation is about mortality, purpose, success, service, reinvention and learning to stop living with one foot in and one foot out. Because someday isn't guaranteed.
