WAHRE KRIMINALFÄLLE
It’s been over 35 years since the night Sarah MacDiarmid vanished from the Kananook railway station on Wednesday, 11 July 1990. Blood evidence at the scene suggested Sarah had been attacked and may not have survived. But her attacker took her, and Sarah’s body has never been recovered. After an extensive search and a police investigation which continues to this day, Sarah’s family hope this podcast will bring a renewed focus onto her case, and that someone listening will hold a piece of the puzzle that will help return Sarah to them. Vikki Petraitis co-wrote The Phillip Island Murder with journalist Paul Daley. The story that captivated Vikki from the moment she heard of it has had a similar effect on people worldwide. Long after the original book went out of print, people would stumble on it in second-hand stores and get in touch with her. Interest has never really died down. The Phillip Island Murder was featured on an episode of Sensing Murder in 2005, and then became Case 80: Beth Barnard on Casefile in 2018. Casefile Presents asked Vikki to explore the case in a long-form series. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

WAHRE KRIMINALFÄLLE
In June 1993, Elizabeth Stevens, 18, was murdered on her way home from the bus stop. Her death began a seven-week reign of terror for the people of Frankston. A serial killer was on the loose. No one was safe, not young mother, Debbie Fream, 22, taken on a trip to the shops, nor Natalie Russell, 17, murdered on her way home from school. The serial killer, Paul Denyer was captured and sentenced to life in prison. On appeal, he was granted a 30-year minimum sentence. Fast forward 30 years and Denyer has applied for parole. Award winning crime writer Vikki Petraitis was on patrol with police the night the final murder took place. She wrote the bestselling book, The Frankston Murders which has never been out of print. Vikki has revisited the case in a longform podcast to remind the world why Denyer must never be released. The Frankston Murders Podcast uncovers new material and new victims stalked by Denyer in the lead-up to the killings. Vikki interviews prison guards, police officers, family members, and people caught in the periphery of a serial killer.Credits:Created by Vikki PetraitisResearch and writing by Vikki PetraitisAudio production and scoring by Mike Migas (https://mikemigas.com/)Audio production by Anthony TelferArchive production by Catherine Seccombe/Arcdive (https://www.arcdive.com/)Archival audio supplied by The Footage Company / Nine Network Australia Hosted on Acast. WAHRE KRIMINALFÄLLE
When 20-year-old Matthew Leveson failed to return home after a night out clubbing in Sydney, his loved ones were worried sick. Matty was a trustworthy, warm, and caring young man who adored his friends and family, not the type of person who would just take off without a word. Suspicion soon fell on Matt’s partner, 45-year-old Michael Atkins, after it was revealed that the pair were fighting on the night of Matt’s disappearance. But was that unfortunate timing, or did Atkins have something to hide? Matty is a 10-part series narrated by Loren O’Keeffe from The Missed Foundation (formerly known as MPAN – Missing Persons Advocacy Network). Join Loren as she documents the decade-long struggle faced by Matt’s parents, Mark and Faye, who refused to give up on their son. We go behind the headlines for an exclusive insight into how the investigation unfolded, exploring the failures of law enforcement and the ongoing obstacles faced by the Levesons. At the heart of it all lies the question: how far would you go to bring your loved one home? Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
