Mit künstlicher Intelligenz Krebs besser behandeln

Wie lässt sich mit der Analyse von Daten durch künstliche Intelligenz und andere Verfahren Krebs besser behandeln? Das ist die zentrale Frage dieser Episode und wir können dazu auf ein ganz konkretes Projekt blicken. OPTIMA - das steht für Optimal Treatment for Patients with Solid Tumors in Europe through Artificial Intelligence. Das Projekt ist eine sogenannte Public-Private-Partnership. 39 Partner aus 13 Ländern, darunter Kliniken, Wissenschaftseinrichtungen, Behörden und forschende Pharmaunternehmen, arbeiten auf europäischer Ebene zusammen. Gestartet ist das Forschungsprogramm 2021. Ziel ist es, idealerweise Lücken in den Behandlungsleitlinien zu schließen und die Versorgung bei Prostata-, Brust- und Lungenkrebs zu verbessern. Was hat sich in der Zeit getan? Welche Fortschritte gab es bereits? Welche Erwartungen haben sich vielleicht auch nicht erfüllt? Und wie sieht die konkrete Perspektive aus für das große Ziel, Krebserkrankungen durch neue technologische Möglichkeiten besser zu behandeln? Dazu sprechen wir mit Dr. Michael Bussmann, Gründungsbeauftragter des Center for Advanced Systems Understanding, abgekürzt CASUS, das Teil des Helmholtz-Zentrums Dresden-Rossendorf ist und einer der Partner bei OPTIMA. Von Pfizer mit am Tisch sitzt zu einen Dr. Hagen Krüger, Senior Medical Director Oncology bei Pfizer in Deutschland. Er leitet von Unternehmensseite das Projekt OPTIMA. Darlene & Ben: On age-gap love through menopause

In this episode, Darlene and Ben share their unconventional love story, which was challenged and strengthened by Darlene’s menopause experience. Although Ben is 20 years younger than Darlene, he has proven to be an exemplary partner and source of support for Darlene as she struggled with menopause symptoms. In addition to the broader impact of menopause symptoms on her daily life, Darlene also shares how her symptoms affected her work and how she felt unsupported in her workplace. This experience eventually led her to take time off work, however, it also inspired her to become an advocate to help educate, bring awareness, and support others going through menopause in the workplace.
