Don’t be misled by the title – this podcast is a peak into the humanity and motivations of those interviewed, not a political spot for their agendas. Speaking to politicians for the most part, Paul Brand convinces his subjects to relax and share the personal stories beyond their policies and pet issues. With humour and empathy, he mixes disarming questions about their office decor with getting to the root of what they would like to see changed. His subjects are from across the political spectrum, and I certainly don’t find myself agreeing with all of their positions. There are even some I wouldn’t expect to be interviewed, be they a somewhat less famous backbencher or a TOWIE star. But Brand finds a thread of interest in each of them that’s worth following. This is the only podcast I have to listen to immediately when it’s released because I can’t wait for the next deep dive into the interviewees that tend to run Britain.
