Ep 236 | You Can't Outsource Your Creativity To AI (And That's Good News) with Terri Trespicio

There are two stories being sold about AI right now, and both of them will keep you stuck. One says it's going to replace you and everything you do will be obsolete. The other says you're already behind and if you're not using it for a hundred things you'll never catch up. If you've been feeling some version of both at the same time, this conversation is for you. In this episode I'm joined by my friend Terri Trespicio — messaging expert, author of Unfollow Your Passion, and the voice behind a viral TEDx talk with more than eight million views — and we're getting into what this moment actually asks of us as people who do human-centered work. This isn't an anti-AI conversation. We both use it every day. What we're really talking about is what the tool can carry and what it absolutely cannot, and why the part it can't carry is the part your entire business is built on. Terri makes a case in this conversation that I have not been able to stop thinking about: AI isn't replacing creativity, it's relocating it. The work moves upstream, into your choices, your questions, your judgment about what's even worth making. Which means the better you know what's yours, the more useful the tool becomes — and the less you know, the more generic everything you produce will be. We go back and forth on what that looks like in practice, where each of us draws the line, and why the thing that makes your work worth paying for was never the output in the first place. It was the taste, the lived experience and the stories behind it, and none of that exists inside a machine. In this episode you'll hear: The two fear stories about AI that are keeping people paralyzed — and why neither one is serving youWhat AI genuinely can't do, no matter how good it gets — and why that's the most valuable real estate in your businessWhy you are a creative even if you have never once thought of yourself that wayWhat it actually takes to get something out of these tools that sounds like you and not like everyone elseWhy there is no perfect template, formula, or launch sequence — and what to trust insteadWhat human-centered work requires that an automated business never will Terri is also the founder of The Studio, a virtual, critic-free, judgment-free writing room that runs in real time Monday through Friday — for business owners, brand owners, authors, and anyone who wants to write. And Terri is going to be in the room with us at Passionate & Prosperous LIVE! this October, on the panel I built specifically for this conversation — The Human Edge: Building Your Personal Brand in the Age of AI. She was the very first person I invited, before I even knew what the panel was going to be. And she's not just showing up for her hour and leaving — she'll be there with all of us, which means you get to actually meet her. Ep 235 | When You Can't Do All The Things 100%, Your Genius Edge Is How You Choose

Have you ever felt like you're supposed to be 100% consistent with every single thing you could possibly be doing in your business? The daily video, the posting, the emails, the podcast, the live teaching, the outreach — all of it, all the way, all the time. It's too much pressure. And here's the truth nobody says out loud: you can't show up for every single thing at full capacity. Nobody can. So the real work is figuring out how you choose. I'm recording this in the middle of a genuinely full season — I've got a lot going on in my business right now — and this is exactly the kind of moment where I have to step back and get honest about where my time, energy and focus are actually going. So in this episode I'm walking you through my signature framework, Your Genius Edge, which is exactly how I make those decisions. It's how I know what to double down on, what to just pepper in, and what to let go of without spiraling about it — and it's the thing I come back to every single time this pressure starts building. I'm also getting real about my own version of this, including a type of content I know for a fact is working for me that I still don't want to do — and why that's information about my business rather than something wrong with me. And I'm saying something I feel strongly about: those of us doing the deeper, transformational work need content that can't be crammed into 30 seconds. It's really hard out there when the whole industry is telling you otherwise, and I want you to hear that the short stuff was never going to be all of it. In this episode you'll hear: Why nobody can be equally consistent with everything — and what to do with that instead of beating yourself up about itHow to decide what deserves your consistency and what you can just pepper inWhat it looks like to redefine consistency for YOUR business instead of measuring yourself against someone else's version of itThe difference between avoiding something because you're scared of visibility and avoiding it because it genuinely isn't your best leverWhy the content that gets the most engagement isn't automatically the content to build your business onWhat the deeper, transformational work actually requires from your content — and why the 30-second stuff was never going to be enough on its own If you've been quietly beating yourself up for not keeping up with everything, this one is going to take some weight off — and hand you a much better question to be working with. Ep 234 | Building The Skill of Allowing Many Things To Be True At Once In Your Business

You can feel completely overwhelmed by your business and be doing really well in it at the exact same time. Both of those things get to be true — and becoming someone who can hold them together, instead of letting the hard one run the show, is not a nice-to-have. It is essential to growing anything of your own. In this episode I'm getting into why our brains are wired to grab the difficult thing and hold onto it — the negativity bias, the default settings we all come installed with. And nobody is supposed to stay on the factory settings. You're supposed to customize. You're supposed to install the upgrade. Being someone who can experience many things at once is not a personality trait you either have or you don't — it IS the upgrade, and you have to install it on purpose (there's no button for it, which I know is annoying). And I'm telling you about a retreat I almost talked myself out of going to, what happened when I went anyway, and the very big way I got reminded of something I teach all of you constantly. There's a whole part of this about the murky, messy middle of building something — where you don't have clarity yet, where the thing you've committed to is expensive and terrifying and you said YES to it long before you knew if anyone was even coming — and why none of that means something has gone wrong. That's just what comes with building a business that's a creative expression of who you are. The overwhelm was never the problem — letting it win is. And I get into why I keep intentionally putting myself in rooms with the kind of people who are doing the same thing, and what that connection actually does for a business. In this episode you'll hear: Why your brain is wired to hold onto the hard thing — and what it costs you in your business when you let that be the only thing you can seeWhat it actually means to hold two opposite truths at the same time — and why this is a capacity you build, not something you're born withWhy feeling overwhelmed is not evidence that something has gone wrong — and how to keep it from making your decisions for youWhat happens when you leave the house and get in a room with real people — and why community and connection do more for your business than another week alone at your laptopWhy staying the same is so much more comfortable than changing — and what separates the small percentage of people who are actually willing to do something differentWhat it takes to commit to something big before you have any proof it will work — and why that discomfort doesn't go away no matter how many times you've done it If you're a coach, teacher, or service-based business owner in the middle of something big right now and the overwhelm is LOUD, this one is your reminder that it can be loud AND you can still be doing exactly the right thing at the very same time. Ep 233 | Having a Business That Makes Money Doing What You Love

What if the thing you love doing most — the actual coaching, the actual teaching, the real work with your clients — is not what you have to sacrifice to grow your business... but the very thing to build it around? That's what this episode is about, and it might change how you think about every business decision you make from here. In this episode I'm sharing why centering your business around the work that gives you the greatest joy is one of the most important things you can do — because it is so easy to get pulled away from it in the interest of marketing, messaging, offers, and everyone else's ideas about scaling. I'm also pulling back the curtain on my own journey — from the yoga studio, to transformational coach, to becoming a business coach almost by accident — and why through every version of it, the work itself has stayed at the center. And I'm making the case for something I believe with my whole heart: there is a business model built on being really great at what you do. A business where you actually work with your clients, build real relationships, and deliver the deep work you set out to do — and it grows differently than a business that was never built on that. In this episode you'll hear: Why centering your business around the work that gives you the greatest joy matters more than any strategy, funnel, or scaling planHow easy it is to get pulled away from the work you started your business to do — and what it looks like to come back to itWhy a business built on deep, human, relational work is its own business model — and can't be grown like one built to sell something elseWhat it takes to make money doing what you love without diluting it or changing it to fit someone else's version of successWhy being really great at what you do is a business strategy in itself — and how it creates the client relationships that sustain a business for years If you started your business to do work you love, this episode is your reminder that the work itself gets to stay at the center — and that there's a real business model built on exactly that. Speaking of building a business around being really great at what you do — that's exactly what this year's Passionate & Prosperous LIVE! is all about. The theme is Show Up, Stand Out, Get Paid, and it's for those of us who know that the way to be known isn't a 30-second reel — it's being exceptional at the work and letting people experience the depth of it. Ep 232 | The What-If Spiral: Why Overplanning Keeps You Stuck (and How to Trust Yourself Instead)

You know what happens right before you do something new — have a conversation you've never had before, make an offer, raise your price, put something out into the world. Before the thing has even happened, your brain gets to work playing out every version of how it could go: what if they say no, what if they have an objection, what if no one signs up, what if it doesn't go the way I planned. And it feels productive — like if you could just think through every scenario in advance, you'd walk in prepared for anything. But that's not preparation. That's the what-ifs — and they're one of the sneakiest ways we hold ourselves back from actually doing the thing. In this episode I'm getting into why we spiral like this anytime we're about to do something that feels new, risky, high-stakes, or vulnerable. As human beings, we want to KNOW — we want to know how it's going to go, we want to be in control of every step, and we've decided that success means things going exactly according to plan... which is just not possible. This came up recently with my clients inside the Passionate & Prosperous Academy around sales calls — what if they say no to the price, what if they ask for the number before I've even had the real conversation — and it's the same thing that shows up at every phase and stage of business and life, no matter how experienced you are. What I get into is the difference between the what-ifs you can actually build a contingency plan for and the ones you simply cannot know the answer to until they're happening — and why spending your time and energy trying to figure it all out in advance is so often just a way of avoiding taking the action. Because the real skill was never having a script for every scenario. It's being anchored in WHY you've made the choices you've made — why you built the offer, why you priced it the way you did, why you do things the way you do — and trusting your skills and your foundation enough to assess, decide, and respond in real time. So much of what we learn in our businesses and our lives comes from DOING the thing — and then going, okay, that happened, here's how I dealt with it, and now I know. In this episode, we're talking about: The what-ifs that show up anytime you're about to do something new, risky, or vulnerable — and why they come up at every phase and stage of business and lifeWhy we want so badly to know the outcome in advance and control every step — and why "success = going according to plan" sets us upThe difference between a what-if you can build a contingency plan for and one you can't know until it's actually happeningWhy spending time and energy trying to account for everything in advance is often just a way of avoiding taking actionWhat it means to be anchored in WHY you've made the choices you've made — so you can respond in real time instead of needing a scriptWhy so much of what we learn in business and life only comes from doing the thing — and the question to ask when it doesn't go as planned: okay, so now what? You were never going to be able to plan for all of it — and this episode is about trusting yourself enough to stop trying. Ep 231 | Mid-Year Check-In: Why It's Okay to Assess, Change Your Mind, and Still Be On Track!

We are officially at the halfway point of 2026, and if you started the year with a vision, a word of the year, or a list of declarations about who you wanted to be, this is the moment to pause and take an honest look at how the first six months actually went. And if you're not exactly where you thought you'd be right now, I want you to know that's more than okay. In this episode I'm doing my own mid-year check-in out loud, including the parts that didn't go according to plan. I made a team hire at the beginning of the year that I thought was going to free me up, and five months in, it didn't work out. I said I was going to write a book this year, and I haven't started it yet. I'm walking through why none of that means I failed, why reassessing at the midpoint isn't the same as giving up on your goals, and the real questions to ask yourself right now: has what you want changed, has your vision shifted, and what clarity have you gained in the last six months that you simply didn't have in January. I'm also getting into why I believe your business is an ongoing experiment and not a fixed plan you have to white-knuckle your way through, and why being willing to change your mind is a sign of growth, not a sign of failure. I'm sharing what my own next six months look like, including how I'm approaching my launches differently this year and where my focus is going as I head into Passionate & Prosperous Live. In this episode you'll hear: Why not being where you thought you'd be by mid-year is not a fail — and might actually be a sign something better is on its wayThe exact questions to ask yourself to figure out if your goals have genuinely changed, or if you just got knocked off courseWhy "you're allowed to change your mind" applies to your business goals just as much as anything else in your lifeWhat happened when a team hire didn't go the way I planned — and why I'm not beating myself up about itHow to recommit to the rest of the year without dragging guilt or self-judgment into itWhy treating your business as an experiment instead of a rigid plan changes how you handle everything that's still ahead Wherever you land when you take stock, this episode is your permission to pause, reset, and head into the second half of the year without carrying any regret about the first. Ep 230 | The Messaging Strategy Every Coach and Expert Needs To Create Content that Converts (and Build Your Body of Work)

Being visible is essential in our businesses right now — and if you're in the online business, coaching, or speaking world, you already know that there is a LOT happening in this space around showing up, creating content, talking to camera, and making video. And I am genuinely here for all of it. Showing up matters. Building that muscle matters. But here's what I think is getting lost in the conversation: if you actually want your online presence to DO something for your business, you still need to know what to say. And it's not one perfect post or a template that's suddenly going to explode your business and bring in a flood of clients. In this episode I'm teaching my messaging strategy and breaking it down into the seven distinct styles and angles that need to be represented across the entirety of your content and body of work. I'm also getting into what messaging really is, how it connects to everything you create, and why everything you put out into the world — from a ten-second reel to a two-day live event — is content. All of it together is your body of work. And understanding that is what actually changes how you show up. I'm breaking down each of the seven messaging styles, what they do, who they reach, and why no single one of them is enough on its own — because different people in your audience need to hear different things at completely different moments, in completely different ways. In this episode you'll hear: Why visibility and showing up are essential AND why you still need to know what to say — and what that actually looks like in practiceWhat messaging really is and how it connects to absolutely everything you create in your businessWhy everything you put out into the world is content — and what your body of work is actually made ofThe seven messaging styles that need to be represented across your content over time — and what each one does for a different person in your audienceWhy different people need to hear the same thing in completely different ways — and why that's not repetition, it's strategyWhy there is no one perfect post, template, or platform that does the whole job — and what to focus on instead If you've been showing up and creating content and wondering why it's not quite doing what you want it to do, this episode is going to give you the full picture — and a completely new way to think about everything you say and create. 🔗 Ways to Work With Stacey & Free Resources 💚 1:1 Coaching & Mastermind Book your free Ultimate Impact Blueprint Session to explore private coaching or mastermind support and take your life and business to the next level. 🌟 Passionate & Prosperous Academy Join the Academy for coaching, mentorship, and community designed to help you build and grow a transformational business without ads or complicated funnels—just powerful offers, relationships, and live delivery. 📈 Free Resource: High-Converting Event Playbook Learn how to create masterclasses, workshops, and talks that actually lead to clients (not crickets). 💻 Free Mini-Course: Your Irresistible Signature 1:1 Offer Five simple steps to crafting a premium 1:1 offer your ideal clients are ready to say yes to. 🧘 Passionate & Prosperous Manifestation Toolkit ($47) An exclusive toolkit featuring a 52-card affirmation deck and a guided journal with custom prompts to help you align, manifest, and take intentional action. Ep 229 | What It Really Takes to Put Your Work Into the World (And Why It Feels So Hard!)

Something I have been thinking about a lot lately — and talking about with my clients constantly — is this fascinating and costly phenomenon of making “hard” mean “bad”. You are working on something, creating something, trying to find the right words for something that really matters to you, and it feels hard. And the next thing you know you are questioning everything. Whether you are good at this. Whether it is meant for you. Whether everyone else finds this easier than you do. In this episode I am going deep on that — and using the very real, very behind-the-scenes experience of the last few weeks of my own business to do it. I have been deep in the work of creating the theme and sales page for this year's Passionate & Prosperous Live!, my two-day in-person event in New York City — and it was hard, it took longer than I wanted and I went through it the way I always do when I am creating something big, something important and something that I am putting my whole heart into. But after decades of being a teacher, a student, a creator and almost 58 years of being human, I have learned a lot about the meaning we make when things are hard - and what we need to do about it. In this episode I am getting into the many different reasons something can feel hard, and why it is totally not helpful when people try to sell you the idea that if you were in alignment, flow or whatever, your business would feel easy! As always, I’m here to tell you what it really takes to put yourself and your work out into the world - and to let you know that it’s totally okay for it to feel hard sometimes as long as you don’t make it mean all kinds of stuff about yourself. And in an exciting turn of events, I’m revealing the theme for this year's Passionate & Prosperous Live! — trust me, you are going to want to hear this one — and why every single thing I talk about in this episode is exactly why I landed on it (and why you need to join us this October in NYC!) Here's what you'll hear in this episode: Why hard automatically gets labeled as bad — and why that pattern is costing coaches and business owners more than they realizeThe misinformation the coaching industry keeps selling about ease and alignment — and why it creates false expectations that set you up to struggleThe two very different reasons something can feel hard — and why knowing the difference changes everything about how you respondThe real behind-the-scenes of creating Passionate & Prosperous Live 2026 — what the process looked like and what it brought up along the wayWhy you can hold two things at once: knowing your work is extraordinary AND being terrified no one will show up for itWhat real messaging actually is — and why finding the words for your work takes as long as it takesWhy your voice, your message, your story, and your IP are the one thing you cannot outsource — and what to do when that feels hardWhy everything takes time — and why how long something takes is never an indictment of you or your abilities Something being hard does not mean it is bad. It does not mean you are bad at it. It does not mean it is not for you. This episode is going to help you actually believe that. 🎟️ Passionate & Prosperous Live! — October 16 & 17, New York City.
