    Statement of Faith Part 1

As a fellowship of believers, we are called to be a part of the global Body of Christ. Our congregation is made up of people from various nations, cultures, and denominational backgrounds, each with a unique journey of faith. We believe that our unity is found in our shared commitment to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior rather than in absolute uniformity of thought on every theological point. We are united by the core truths of the Gospel, which transcend cultural and theological divides. Our desire is to grow together in love, grace, and knowledge of God, recognizing that on many matters, we can allow for disagreement while holding fast to the essentials of the Christian faith.

    Honouring

In order to fulfill the plan God has for us we need to allow the HSP to transform us, more and more, into the image of Jesus. 1- Be willing to forgive those who have hurt/offended us; 2- Be humble; 3- Be willing to carry one another’s burdens: 4- Be a godly friend: i- Keep promises made to each other; ii- Make room in our lives/hearts for each other; iii- Listen to what’s on friend’s heart; iv- Help each other keep eyes on Jesus. v- etc v-- Honour One Another - All people are created in God’s image therefore we are to “respect and honour everyone.” 1 Peter 2:17 - Honour is expressed through our actions, words and thoughts. Honour is not based on whether we think the people are good or not, capable or incompotent; We are to honour: 1- Parents- Exodus 20:12, Eph ho6:1-3; Jonathon honoured King Saul inspite of how his father treated him. 2- Elderly- Lev. 19:32, 1 Tim 5:- honour older men as father. Older women as mother 3- Your spouse- 1 Peter 3:7, Eph 5:33. If single- honour young men as brothers and young women as sisters. 4- Those in authority over us in secular world: A- Government – 1 Peter 2:13-14, Romans 13. Always honour those in authority, submit except when what they ask us to do violates Gods’ Word. ex- midwives- Pharaoh, Daniel ordered to pray to king, SMA- bow to idol, Acts 4- disciples told to quit teaching about Jesus - Nehemiah- great example- always honoured the king when he spoke to him. Neh 2:3,5,7. Honouring king lead to good results. - David honoured Saul- 2 Samuel 1:23-27 B- Those is authority over us at work (Christian/secular) – 1 Tim. 6:1, Col. 3:22- 24+, Eph. 6:5-8, Titus 2:9-10 C- Leaders at church- 1 Tim 5:17-18 (double honour), Vs 19-20- when leaders fail- process of dealing with this needs to be one thatstill treats them with honour and respect. 1 Thess 5:12-13, Hebrews 13:17 - - esteem them highly, live at peace with one another, don’t make their work more difficult, obey them- as long as this doesn’t violate God’s Word. Honour is a 2 way street- people honour leaders; leaders honour people by: i- Serve them willingly and joyfully 1 Peter 5:2-3; ii- Being committed to those they serve- ex- Moses; iii- Have a servant’s heart- MK 10:45a- Jesus came to serve not to be served; iv- Invest time and energy in getting to know the people, Jesus -Mary, Martha and Lazarus; Jesus- Zacchaeus; v- Listen to the people, hear their heart; vi- Speak kindly/gently to the people. 5- We are to honour other believers- Romans 12:10; 6- We are to honour everyone – no exceptions- 1 Peter 2:17.
