From Designer to Founder: How AI Changes What Designers Can Build | Kathy Wang

AI has made it possible for designers to build real products without waiting for a technical counterpart. But for Kathy Wang, the biggest thing holding designers back is no longer technical ability. It’s mindset. In this conversation, I sit down with Kathy to talk about her journey from product designer at IBM, Dropbox and Snorkel AI to co-founder of Press Club. She shares why a talk at Figma Config pushed her to quit her job one week later, how she built an audience before she knew what company she would start, and how one LinkedIn post generated more than 60 leads for Press Club. ———— 🔗 Kathy on LinkedIn https://www.linkedin.com/in/kathytwang/ 🔗 Press Club https://www.pressclub.app ———— 🚀 Get in touch with me https://www.linkedin.com/in/kathytwang/ 🔗 Find AI Designer Club on LinkedIn https://www.linkedin.com/company/aidesignerclub

Build a vibe coding agent with me | Alexis Fernandez

AI agents don’t need to be complicated, fully autonomous systems running 24/7. Watch full episode on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2BnuHjgKXGM&t=523s In this conversation, I sit down with Alexis Fernandez to understand what AI agents actually are, how they differ from regular AI chats, skills and custom instructions and most importantly, how to build one that genuinely helps you. Then we build one live. In less than 15 minutes, we create Vera, an AI teammate designed to help me think, critique product decisions, support vibe coding, and bring technical expertise into my workflow. Alexis is not a designer by training and not an engineer by training. He spent his career in operations and systems, and has spent the last two years building with AI. He now helps others build with it, and works on the infrastructure that gets multiple agents to collaborate, hold memory, and stay out of the way until they're needed. He's the founder of Alem. ———— 🔗 Free AI Team Starter Kit (everything Alexis used in this episode) https://freebies.alem.to/ai-team-star... 🔗 Build Your AI Team Bootcamp, 3 days, 29 September to 1 October,, 90 minutes a day https://bootcamp.alem.to 🔗 Alexis on LinkedIn   / alexis-alem   🔗 Alem https://alem.to ———— 🚀 Built a product as a designer? Make Your Figma Designs AI Readable | Stefan Holzheu

In this episode I'm talking to Stefan Holzheu, the designer who built DesignReady, a free Figma plugin that scans your design and scores how ready it is for AI to turn into code. Stefan demos it live. We also get into the token math. If you want AI to build what you actually designed instead of its best guess, this episode is for you. Stefan Holzheu is a Senior Product Designer based in Germany, working in enterprise design systems and end-to-end product concepts for over a decade. DesignReady plugin reached almost 400 downloads on Figma Community with zero advertising, just LinkedIn posts documenting his learning in public. ———— 🔗 DesignReady on Figma Community https://www.figma.com/community/plugin/1619643293052051000 🔗 Stefan on LinkedIn https://www.linkedin.com/in/sholzheu/ ———— 🚀 Built a product as a designer?
