This 6-minute somatic meditation for sleep is designed to help calm your nervous system, release the tension of the day, and gently prepare your body for deep rest through grounding, mindful breathing, body awareness, and progressive softening. Through grounding into the support of your bed, slow exhales, gentle body awareness, and a soothing head-to-toe relaxation, this meditation supports the nervous system in shifting out of alertness, stress, and mental activity and toward greater calm, heaviness, and rest. Somatic meditation works by bringing gentle awareness back to the sensations of the body. As you notice the weight of your body being supported, soften areas of tension, and reconnect with the natural rhythm of your breath, your nervous system receives cues that it may begin to settle. Rather than trying to force sleep, you are simply creating conditions that can support rest. This practice is a gentle invitation to set down the day. There is nothing left to accomplish, solve, or figure out right now. You are invited to let the bed hold you, allow your body to become heavy, and trust that rest can unfold in its own time. ✨ In this somatic sleep meditation you will experience: • Grounding through the physical support of your bed• Slow, gentle breathing to help the nervous system settle• Head-to-toe body awareness to release physical tension• Softening through the legs, hips, belly, shoulders, jaw, and face• Gentle guidance for relating differently to bedtime thoughts• Progressive relaxation to prepare the body for sleep• Quiet stillness and permission to fully rest 🕊 Practice Length: ~6 minutes 🪷 Props Suggested: pillow • blanket • anything that helps your body feel comfortable and supported 🪷 Best For: sleep meditation • bedtime meditation • nervous system regulation • nighttime anxiety • racing thoughts • stress relief • deep relaxation • grounding before sleep • body scan for sleep • somatic meditation • evening wind-down "The day is done.
