Eschatology Series: part 2 of 3: Cut Through the Noise

Our mini-series on eschatology continues with an overview of the schools of thought on studying end-times. While discussing the differences and similarities we offer our encouragement to continue to ask questions and seek your answers by digging into God’s Word, which we know has the ultimate authority. Do not feel obligated to fit yourself into one area of belief or another; it is perfectly okay to be unable to label yourself as anyone other than someone who loves and obeys the Lord and believes that Jesus is coming back. We talk a bit about all the noise that’s out there - what people are saying about real time events as they relate to end-times - simply to point out the need for true Biblical literacy. Your seeing and knowing comes from Holy Spirit who guides you in wisdom and discernment. The more you read your Bible the more familiar you are with His voice, and the deeper you get to know Him. We pray you lean on the Lord and what His Word says, and not the world.  “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” - Matthew 6:33 Scripture mentioned in this episode: Revelation Matthew 24 Revelation 1:3 Proverbs 3:5-6 Hebrews 11:6 Revelation 14:12 Revelation 13:18 John 14:25-31 Colossians 1:17 Revelation 20 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 1 Corinthians 15 Matthew 24:30-31 Revelation 7 1 Enoch  Revelation 6-16  Matthew 24:42-47 1 Samuel 16:7 2 Timothy 3:16-17 1 John 4:1-3 Luke 12:49-56 Mark 12:30-31 Matthew 28:18-20 2 Corinthians 11:14 Ephesians 5:11 Revelation 13 Numbers 19 1 Corinthians 6:19 Matthew 5:17 Matthew 7:7

    Mini-Series: Seasons, Difficult Seasons

As we are closing out our mini-series on Seasons, we continue the conversation by talking about those difficult seasons in life - things like betrayal, letting go, loss, grief, and difficult things about life in general. Through lots and lots of references to Scripture we emphasize the beauty in seeking the steady love of the Lord; the more you seek Him the more familiar you are with Him and in knowing just how personal and intimate His love is for you.  Did you know that as believers we are called to rejoice in our suffering? Any opportunity that we have to draw nearer to Jesus is a blessing, for it proves to us over and over and over again that we cannot do life fully without Jesus! This doesn’t mean these trials are easy or that our sincere feelings of pain and sadness are not real. These difficult seasons reveal just how much we need and depend on the Lord; and in our humble dependency comes faithful provision!  “We rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.” Romans 5:3-5 Scripture John 16:33 James 1:22-25 Jeremiah 17:9 Proverbs 3 Proverbs 16:3 Matthew 6:24 Matthew 7:24-27 1 Corinthians 15:33 Matthew 12:43-45 Genesis 4:7 Matthew 19 Judges 13 1 Samuel 1-2 Genesis 1:1 Psalm 90:2 Isaiah 55:8-9 Psalm 23 Matthew 5:44 2 Kings 19:14-37 1 Peter 5:8 Matthew 28:20 Joshua 1:5 Isaiah 41:10 Psalm 16:8 John 14:6 Luke 23:34-38 James 1-5 Romans 8:26-28 Romans 5:3-5 Revelation 14:12 Hebrews 13:21 2 Timothy 3:17 Ephesians 4:12 Jeremiah 1:5-9 2 Corinthians 9:8 1 Corinthians 1:27-29 Philippians 2:13 Acts 1:8 Proverbs 3 James 4:7 Exodus 14:14 2 Chronicles 20:15 Numbers 6:24-26 Mentions I am Yours, NEEDTOBREATHE (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xkZYiE3ARr0)  Raising Little Luci (https://www.raisinglittleluci.com/) Jireh, Elevation Worship & Maverick City (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mC-zw0zCCtg)  Connect with Us Instagram: instagram.com/liftingtheveil__podcast Facebook: facebook.com/liftingtheveilpodcast Website: https://www.liftingtheveilpodcast.com/

Mini Series: Seasons, Understanding God's Calendar

We continue our mini-series on Seasons in our second podcast season about studying and applying God’s Word with an episode on God’s Calendar. As always, we use Scripture to point out the truth about time, seasons, and God’s intentionality throughout His creation, and in history. We discuss important Biblical events that took place during these specific times, and we even bring a bit of fun facts to the conversation - Did you know that up until the mid-18th Century many parts of Europe still considered the end of March as the beginning of the year? The calendar we follow now is based on a Roman calendar (Julian) and is an iteration of the Gregorian calendar, which not all countries and areas of the world follow. Grab your Bible and notebook and join the conversation with us.
