Lost In Panama

I am a journalist, and I wouldn’t have had the bravery to investigate this, although I was very interested in this case since years. The ending is frustrating, yes. But the daily beast articles were the best on this case before this podcast. And the author shows his companion wisely. The interrupted, and as the end shows clearly: sabotaged interrogation are something, that the woman of this world will no longer tolerate. Protecting abusive Machismo isn’t modern at all. Those kind of „man“ are weak and they are little babies without their environment. And the environment will vanish. That’s for sure 😀 And this podcast ist one tool further ❤️🍒

I wouldn‘t call this journalism. It tries so hard to come up with suspects and reasons why this wasn‘t a just a tragedy. The case was somved in the first (?) episode. It‘s really sad, but the photos the girls took make it clear that they did not return at the end of the hiking route, but went down the mountain on the other side, into the jungle, away from town and into a zone with no cell reception. It‘s sad. It‘s weird that there are no videos of them talking about what happened or leaving a message for their parents - they had their cell phones - but it‘s likely they thought people would be searching for them and find them any day? Later on they might not have been in the right mind anymore… who knows. But these „journalist“ talking to someone who HEARD from someone else they where at a party trying to by „drugs“ is more than hearsay. It‘s horrific!

Wow, ich habe alle Folgen angehört und bin entsetzt. Ich gebe zu, die Neugierde hat mich weiterhören lassen. Dies klingt nicht nach investigativem Journalismus, sondern eher nach Anschuldigungen ohne richtige Beweise und als brauchen die Journalisten dringend eine gute Story. Wahrscheinlicher ist einfacher, dass es sich um einen tragischen Unfall handelt, nachdem die beiden sich verlaufen haben. Der Podcast wäre deutlich glaubwürdiger und interessanter, wenn sachlicher berichtet worden wäre.
