    Josh Bailey started life rough, living with violence from his Step-Father, to being removed from custody, living in a family refuge centre and eventually being placed in the care of his Grandparents. He also lived a life of service, from the 1st Commando Regiment, Air Marshalls, Protective Services, Australian Federal Police and the Australian Army. His career with the Federal Police came to an end after a saga of administrative, legal and personal circumstances that resulted from an on duty car crash which left him with PTSD, and a fight against the organisation that was meant to have his back. Josh now studies psychology and helps other people who also serve as he has, and provided guidance and perspective about the inherent struggles with service based organisations.     Ep #1: Jason Semple - Warriors and Wardens Podcast

    Jason Semple served in the NSW Police force for 2 weeks before almost losing his life in a stabbing attack that took the life of his partner, Peter Forsyth. Jason then went on to serve more years as a beat cop, before being selected for the elite Tactical Operations Unit, where he served with distinction before undertaking contracting in Iraq at the height of the conflict. Upon return, he was recruited for the Australian Federal Police (AFP) ORG, an emerging unit for service overseas. It was here that Jason made his name as a sniper, a skill he has maintained ever since. Post service, Jason is focused on being a father to his children, a husband to his wife, and a significant contributor to this community.     Pete is a former Special Forces soldier of the 2nd Commando Regiment and now owns Cardinal Advisors, an advising company for business owners.  He earned his way into the 2nd Commando Regiment through the Direct Recruitment Scheme (DRS) and completed multiple SOTG rotations to Afghanistan, spent a number of years with the Tactical Assault Group (EAST) as well as a tour of Iraq and a Private Security Detail to the Middle East.  He successfully moved from the Special Operations world into the business world and now helps business owners navigate the complexities implicit with that industry.  Pete is a former colleague of mine and a good friend. We discuss how his time on the road influenced his desire to be a CT specialist and hunt the worst of Australian society. He was also significantly injured in a rappelling accident which saw him battle physical and mental injuries for over a year before getting BACK into the SOG. He now works for Police Legacy as well as public speaking engagements to share his experience and the perspectives gained. We delve into his personal journey not only in the dog world but his earliest influences in the family home which has significantly shaped who Glenn is today. Glenn is also a co-host of The Canine Paradigm alongside Pat Stuart, a podcast dedicated to the working canine world. He joined the Army relatively late at 27 years old after a professional fighting career in an effort to serve something greater than himself. After the blast that took his leg and killed his friend Pte Benjamin Ranaudo, he has dedicated his life to serving others by sharing his story and imparting a lifetime of wisdom and rich experiences, especially to young fighters. He is not for the faint of heart, Paul is a no b******t bloke who wants others to achieve their goals and never succumb to the victim mentality that he could so easily have adopted, but never did.     John Devine is a former US Navy SEAL, the US Navy’s special forces direct action unit. John has multiple deployments to warzones both in a direct combat capability as well as advising host nation forces in their fight against terrorism. After his first deployment John was trained as a K9 handler where he went on to complete more deployments to Afghanistan against the Taliban. He speculated that he and his dog found one of, if not the, largest explosive caches of the entire GWOT. Not something to sniff at! He now runs Devine K9s where he focuses on protection dogs for private individuals as well as training service dogs for Veterans as part of the Rescue 22 Foundation to save veterans from suicide. Despite his huge accomplishments and substantial experience, John is extremely humble and interesting to speak to and his passion for what he does is extremely evident.
