    In this episode, we sit down with Adrien Serres, a true builder at the crossroads of technology, entrepreneurship, and the circular economy. Adrien is currently Country Manager Germany at Recommerce Group, the European enabler of the circular economy, where he drives growth and digital transformation in one of Europe’s most demanding markets. An entrepreneur at heart, Adrien has been shaping the mobile and digital ecosystem for more than 15 years. A mobile app pioneer since 2009, he previously founded and led Wazapp, a leading and innovative mobile agency creating great apps for great clients for over a decade, before successfully selling the company to Tymate in June 2019. Geek by nature and hands-on technologist, Adrien is also a sales and marketing automation developer, with a strong passion for creative direction and design. Beyond his operational roles, he actively contributes to the European tech ecosystem as President and co-founder of La French Tech Düsseldorf, launched in 2023. He holds a Master’s degree in Communication from Paris University II, graduating as Major, with a thesis dedicated to the mobile app industry. In this conversation, we explore his journey from mobile innovation to circular economy, his vision for digital transformation in Europe, and what it really takes to build, scale, and exit a tech company.     He began his journey in the secondary mobile device market as an independent trader. For more than four years, he worked directly with wholesalers, logistics partners and refurbishment companies, gaining a deep understanding of how devices move, where value is created, and how trust is built in a market that changes every week. These early experiences shaped his view of the industry and prepared him for a larger role on the global stage. When David joined Orient Telecom, he brought a clear mission. He wanted the company to grow beyond the traditional Hong Kong structure and become a supplier that international buyers could easily work with. His focus was on being more open, more transparent and more consistent in how the company handled grading, communication and overall service. This foundation set the tone for Orient Telecom’s next stage of growth. Over the last three years, David built dedicated teams in Europe, Latin America and Hong Kong. These teams improved daily operations, created faster response times and helped clients access inventory that is normally difficult to obtain. Under his leadership, Orient Telecom became a trusted partner for companies that rely on secondary condition mobile devices. The company is now known for dependable quality and clear communication, two things that remain rare in the global supply chain. A key part of David’s work has been connecting Orient Telecom with the growing circular economy movement. By focusing on high quality grading and reuse, the company plays an active role in extending device life and reducing waste. David often shares insights about the Hong Kong market and the wider global landscape, helping companies understand how reuse and responsible sourcing can support long term sustainability goals. Looking forward, David aims to expand Orient Telecom’s presence in more regions and strengthen its role as a global enabler of circular practices in mobile devices. His vision is to build a company that not only connects buyers and suppliers, but also supports a healthier future for the secondary market. With new partnerships and wider representation planned, David continues to push toward a more connected and more sustainable industry.
