Even if a shot is cinematic gold, beautiful, exquisite and impactful, if it doesn’t help advance the story, then you have to kill it off. In the same way for gameplay, if your VFX are beautiful, mesmerizing and cool, if they don’t satisfy or communicate the right moment for gameplay then kill it off or rework it. iii. “Craft is the sum total of means used to draw the audience into deep involvement, to hold that involvement, and ultimately to reward it with a moving and meaningful experience.
