    STEP ONE is Coming

    What’s the thing you keep saying you’ll do one day? At Edinburgh Fringe, Short Supply founders Mollie and Bek Balshaw put an orange chair in the middle of the Scottish Storytelling Centre and asked each person who sat down the same question: What’s an idea you’ve always wanted to try, but haven’t yet? People told us about books they hadn’t written, exhibitions they could picture but hadn’t made, instruments they wanted to learn, lives they wanted to change and, on one memorable occasion, a musical based on the Bristol Stool Chart. Some ideas were huge. Some were daft. Most had been waiting far longer than their owners intended. STEP ONE is an eight-part limited series about the ideas we carry around, what stops us beginning and how small a first step can really be. No overnight transformations or shouting about productivity—just honest conversations about starting before you feel ready. Recorded live at Edinburgh Fringe 2026. Season One begins in October.
