The 'Welfare' Party

Jeremy Kyle explores Labour being branded the 'Welfare Party' on Wednesday after Andy Burnham said he would never prioritise defence spending over benefits. In an extraordinary intervention, the Prime Minister said he was serious about national security, but it 'cannot come at the expense of social security'. Kemi Badenoch said Mr Burnham had 'said the quiet part out loud', adding: 'For our new PM, social security – welfare – comes above national security. Do you believe Labour will ever cut the benefits bill? Pensioner Benefits: £177.7 billion (around 55% of the total expenditure), which includes £146.1 billion for the State Pension.Working-Age and Children Welfare: £145.0 billion, including Universal Credit and non-DWP welfare.Disability and Health Support: £77.1 billion for people with health conditions and disabilities.Housing Benefits: £37.3 billion President Trump makes a major promise at the Republican midterm convention in Dallas: $5,000 for every adult U.S. citizen if Republicans win both the House and Senate in the midterms. A spokesperson for the Israeli Government calls Ed Miliband a 'failed figure' and a 'joke' who 'made Britain irrelevant', in response to the West Bank sanctions row. Miliband Has Put 'British Jews In Danger'

Jeremy Kyle unpacks The Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband’s announcement sanctions on illegal Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank, accusing Israel's government of turning a blind eye to the "ethnic cleansing" of Palestinians by settlers. Israel furiously hit back - Israel's Foreign Minister Gideon Saar responded by accusing him of spreading an "outrageous lie"and closed the UK consulate, banned a dozen MPs and booted out Britain's military from joint operations. The sanctions were launched alongside France and Canada will prohibit the import of settlement-produced goods, bar companies from providing expansion services, and ban the advertising of settlement properties within the UK. But Ed Miliband has been accused of putting Jews in the UK in danger: The Chief Rabbi Sir Ephraim Mirvis said this is a 'truly a dark day for British Jews' just days before Jewish New Year celebrations and accused Labour of 'gesture politics'. Kemi Badenoch joined the condemnation, saying that Andy Burnham risked 'fanning the flames of anti-Semitism at home' Labour’s Advisor on the unemployed Alan Milburn says the GP sick note culture for people with ADHD is insane. Doctors issued nearly one million sick notes signing people off work with mental health issues last year. It comes as the Government is told about 40,000 hidden NEETS (Not in Employment, Education or Training). The Children's Commissioner finds tens of thousands enrolled in college but hardly attending. Burnham ‘Weak’ On Migrant Protests

Jeremy Kyle examines the latest that Andy Burnham has been told he must not ignore rising anger over the migrant crisis because Britain is teetering on the brink of chaos, Kemi Badenoch has said. The Tory leader accused Labour of being “weak” on immigration as 120 people were brought into Portsmouth following a record crossing attempt from near Cherbourg. She added that “thuggery” cannot stop small boat crossings. It follows a further clash between Zia Yusuf and the supposed leader of the protests in Portsmouth after Nigel Farage said he wanted to end all face coverings in public, including religious ones. And in a major poll for The Times, most of the British public think that small boat migrants should be detained and held in secure accommodation on arrival in Britain Even the U.N. has told Britain that migrants are being granted asylum even when they may not be entitled to it. Their Refugee Agency found serious flaws in Home Office interviews used to decide who is allowed to stay in the UK. Portsmouth & Dover Migrant Protests

Jeremy Kyle reacts as hundreds of protesters have clashed with police in Portsmouth after a mega-dinghy carrying 140 migrants reached the UK from Normandy. Around 500 demonstrators are believed to have joined a protest in the area on Sunday night, with some dressed in all black – similar to those who joined an anti-illegal migrant protest which blocked the Port of Dover on Saturday. The large boat of migrants – believed to be the longest-ever Channel crossing by people-smugglers – was intercepted in the Solent between the Isle of Wight and Portsmouth earlier on Sunday. It comes as only one in 100 asylum claims are genuine, according to a whistleblower who has revealed widespread fraud and dysfunction in the system. He said he had encountered a large number of Iraqi Kurds claiming asylum who said they had been in a relationship with the daughter of the prime minister of the Kurdistan region. Shabana Mahmood was last night accused of kowtowing to the Labour Left-wing after failing to bring forward 'urgent' immigration reforms. The Home Secretary promised tough new measures aimed at tightening immigration laws almost a year ago. Shadow Home Secretary Chris Philp said Ms Mahmood had 'chickened out'. Reform Claim Investigation Is A 'Hoax'

This morning on Talk Breakfast with Ian Collins, Reform UK’s conference has kicked off in Birmingham the party is already battling a full-blown crisis after undercover footage appeared to show senior figures discussing ways around foreign donation rules and keeping polling payments off the books. Nigel Farage has branded the investigation a politically motivated “hoax”, but two senior Reform figures James Orr and long-time Farage confidant Dan Jukes have been ordered to stand down. Lee Anderson says they’ve “left the building” and “ain’t coming back”, while the party launches a full internal investigation. Nothing says business as usual quite like a conference-eve clear-out! Reform supporters are blaming an establishment stitch-up, pointing out that the footage was released by Channel 4 just as the party gathered for its national conference. But critics say Reform must stop crying foul and tighten up its operation if it genuinely wants to move from protest party to government. Despite the chaos, spirits remain high in Birmingham, where thousands of members are gathering to hear Reform’s plans for its first 100 days in power. Nigel Farage is promising a national emergency from day one, MPs sitting through the summer, benefits cuts, lower taxes and action to Stop the boats. The big question is whether the media will focus on those policies or keep the spotlight firmly on the sting. Meanwhile, Argentina’s President Javier Milei is banging the Falklands drum again, declaring that the islands belong to Argentina amid a row over offshore drilling. Critics say it’s little more than a pre-election bluster from a struggling president but Britain’s depleted military infrastructure has once again raised uncomfortable questions about how prepared we’d be if the rhetoric ever became reality. She’s piling maximum pressure on the new PM, as experts warn the UK is sitting in a “deeply uncomfortable” fiscal mess ahead of a brutal upcoming Budget! Despite this, we hear Burnham’s racing ahead with the controversial Chagos Islands surrender deal, with fresh talks set with Mauritius next week. Here’s an idea Mr Burnham, why not scrap the Chagos deal and save us all £35billion. One decision, one massive saving! The PM is being urged to stop getting stitched-up by the French after they promised just a measly 45 extra cops to tackle the illegal boat crossings on the exact same day the famous Bayeux Tapestry is set to cross the Channel. His Majesty the King even chipped in, calling the tapestry loan a symbol of “trust” ha! But conference season has officially begun as Reform UK kick off theirs in Birmingham today. Burnham’s 70’s Horror Show

Jeremy Kyle reacts as The Prime Minister Andy Burnham has been accused of 'living in the past' after blaming Margaret Thatcher and Brexit for Britain's problems. The new Prime Minister used his first statement to Parliament to set out his vision for the country involving greater state control of the economy. He also refused to rule out further tax rises in next month's Budget. He said “From the 1980s, this country took a series of wrong turns. Political power was centralised, economic power privatised, the country deindustrialised, austerity followed. And then Brexit compounded the damage.’ But does anyone else think that Andy Burnham's political diagnosis is a bit outdated - He's talking about things that are literally nearly half a century ago.
