Episode 08: If your emotions could talk

Welcome to episode 08 of the Inner CEO Code Podcast! We surpress in meetings, keep up the brave face. Numb ourselves through screens or television. And go through life like this day by day. Until it adds up and your body suddenly starts ‘speaking’. We now know through the proven mind-body connection that if the mind doesn’t process certain emotions correctly, the body takes the hit. The natural emotional cycle lasts approximately 90 seconds causing a rise in hearth & breath rate and temperature until it dissipates and your body returns to its normal state. If we would stick to that, great. There wouldn’t be any problems. So where’s the blocker? Let me ask you something. Ever caugt yourself ruminating over something that happened hours, day even weeks ago? This is what happens. Our mind is prolonging that emotion by overthinking, overanalysing and forcing it to stay in our system. Studies have shown that you can literally spot where the emotion sits within the body. And it brings a great message we can learn to detect. That’s why interventions that only focus on the spoken word aren’t as effective as work that includes our body. In this episode you’ll get: * An introduction of the natural emotional cycle * Hints where your body stores emotions * An understanding of the role of the nervous system * Insights on what the emotion might be telling you * A practical tool to try out to calm your nervous system Imperfect, but perfectly me. Episode 07: Overcoming fear

Welcome to episode 07 of the Inner CEO Code Podcast! I’ve been loving receiving your messages on where and when you listen to this podcast - whether on your walk, in the car or during your lunchbreaks. So it’s time to get comfortable for a rather uncomfortable topic for this week’s epsiode: Overcoming your fear. You have that one situation, goal, person or even decision that causes that feeling of unease. That tight knot in your chest or stomach. That causes sweaty hands. And immediately your brain has something to say about it, too. Why you can’t make it and it’s too big/ambitious/risky for you. Convincing you that this is the wrong decision, delivering enough reasons why it might be just like that. But our brains are also lying to us and filter out main evidence that would contradict our biggest fears. With 60.000 to 80.000 thoughts per day our brains repeat 85% of the thoughts from the previous day. If we look at our fears from that perspective, it becomes quite quickly clear, why overcoming our fears sometimes feel impossible. Because we unconsciously fed these old beliefs based on past experiences. And it’s understandable. Because our system tries to protect us from the free fall. At least that’s what it feels like for many of us. The bad news? If you want to grow and expand your comfort zone you’ll face certain fears at some point. There’s no shortcut. The good news? We can use that feeling and learn to turn it into power to push through. First with small steps, then through repeated actions. That’s the technique the most successful people in the world are using too. If they can do it, so can you. Let’s go through it together! In this episode you’ll get: * An invitation to locate fear also on a physical level * Reasons why fear is not only bad * Insights on why your brain treats fear like a free fall * Why there’s only one way out and you need the right equipment to do so * Encouraged to overthink the best case scenarios Imperfect, but perfectly me. Episode 06: Same old story

Welcome to episode 06 of the Inner CEO Code Podcast! Not good enough. Not smart enough. I have to be perfect. I should be more successful. Don’t we know it all? That same old story running inside of your heads. Keeping you awake at night. Feeling sometimes worried about the future. And giving you the impression that nothing’s ever going to change. Because it’s constantly there. Over and over again. Like it’s stuck on replay. A broken record we accept and belief. And that quietly might be pulling us in the wrong direction. But what is actually the right direction? When it comes to transformation and change, lots of initiatives focus on the wrong starting point: The Strategy. Whilst we’re technically good with having a strategy and executing it, there are other aspects that hold a way greater leverage in helping us achieve our dreams and goals. Our state and story. You need the first to have the energy to look at the last. And the story to go with the right strategy. But are you living your life based on an old, outdated story? In this episode you’ll get: * The 3 key elements on the journey to promotion to Inner CEO * Why shifting from external to internal is the first step * An invitation to look on the other side * The real difference between impression vs. expression * One key takeaway to use that replay to your advantage Imperfect, but perfectly me. Episode 05: Under Pressure

Welcome to episode 05 of the Inner CEO Code Podcast! This week’s topic is one many of you have asked about and I think most of you will relate to: Finding mental strategies for everyday life when you’re under pressure. In a fast moving, ever changing world it’s easy to find ourselves piling up tasks, expectations, meetings and commitments. Until it becomes harder and harder to handle it all. But how do we stay grounded and balanced when pressure rises — whether that’s internal or external? Before we dive into that, there’s something important to understand first. Stress is part of our human existence. We actually need it to move forward and grow. But there’s a point where it becomes too much. And before we look at how to release it, we need to understand what’s happening in your brain and what’s quietly contributing to the weight in your everyday life before it gets too heavy. In this episode you’ll get: * Insights on why stress isn’t necessarily something bad * An explanation of the teakettle of stress and your brain’s response to pressure * A breakdown of 4 hidden loads* that impact your coping mechanism over time * Strategies on how to release pressure using the ‘Power Hour’ * An invitation to take another viewpoint instead of going all in or out *more about the hidden loads in ‘Big Trust’ from Dr. Shadé Zahrai Imperfect, but perfectly me. Episode 04: Outside of the Box

Welcome to episode 04 of the Inner CEO Code Podcast! First of all, thank you all so much for listenting, commenting and sharing the podcast so far. It means more than you can imagine and helps me tailoring the episode topics closer to what’s on your mind & heart. This week’s topic touches on something I’ve gone through these past years and don’t think gets talked enough about. It’s that moment when you realise you are outside of the box. And you no longer fit in. Quite scary, but also quite human. Throughout our lifes we evolve as human beings - we change, we grow, we learn. And through that we eventually arrive at a point where the old no longer fits and the new isn’t there yet. You just know you can’t go back. This truly is an exploration of how to find beauty in that process, sharing it from my own experience and inviting you to look at the questions that matter to help you determine where you actually want to fit in. In this episode you’ll get: * A glimpse into my personal experience with ‘falling out’ * A new perspective of finding beauty in being the black sheep * Reflections on the right questions when it happens * Insights on the hidden cost of trying to fit into the wrong room * An invitation to express your individuality Imperfect, but perfectly me. Episode 03: Time to say goodbye

Welcome to episode 03 of the Inner CEO Code Podcast! Many of you have asked me to talk about letting go — and why we sometimes face such resistance around it. You know you have to. It might even no longer serve you. Maybe it’s even holding you back or keeping you stuck. Whether that’s a job, a relationship, a friendship or something else entirely. And yet you seem to end up at the same point, over and over again. That’s because letting go isn’t just ‘a moment.’ It’s a complex, uncomfortable process and it deserves some real attention. In this episode we break it down and dive deeper into what’s actually going on in your brain. Using the analogy of an open mental tab that’s waiting to be closed, we explore what prevents us from moving through it. There’s nothing wrong with you. It’s actually very human. It’s easy to find yourself ruminating over potential outcomes or overthinking the whole situation, unconsciously creating an emotional weight instead of releasing it. And that’s exactly what sticks to the brain. In this episode you’ll get: * Insights into why your brain treats letting go like unfinished business * Why it can feel like losing a part of yourself * Simple ways to detach yourself using neuroplasticity & visualisation * A different perspective on letting go by loosening the grip rather than forcing the release Imperfect, but perfectly me. I hope you enjoy. Thank you for being here. With joy, Lisa Music credits: TVARI Get full access to Lisa Rosato at collectiveanchors.substack.com/subscribe
