Unveiling Jesus Christ

John Cassinat

This podcast is based on the research, writings, and content created by John E. Cassinat found principally in his two-volume book entitled The Book of Revelation Doctrinal Commentary: Unveiling Jesus Christ. The book focuses on the unveiling of Jesus Christ as seen through the eyes of John the Revelator. The podcast sets forth the views and opinions of theologians and Biblical scholars from many different religions, although the doctrinal views of the apocalypse predominantly align with those found in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. John the Revelator’s symbolism and images are explained with reference to multiple Old Testament books, including Daniel, Ezekiel, Isaiah, Joel and Zechariah. Jesus Christ is the major focus of this podcast from the time of his premortal existence through the time of the celestialization of the earth. Within these broad parameters, podcast topics will include a discussion of the creation of spirit bodies in premortality; the premortal conflict between Lucifer (Satan) and Jehovah (Christ) during the grand council in heaven and the war in heaven; Christ’s physical creation of multiple worlds; the mortal ministry of Christ among the Jews and the establishment of his ancient church; the postmortal ministry of Christ’s spirit in paradise after His crucifixion; the post-resurrection ministry of Christ among the Jews on the eastern hemisphere, the Nephites on the western hemisphere and the lost ten tribes of Israel; the ongoing conflicts between Christ and Satan in the earthly kingdoms of Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, Rome and the modern nations of the earth; the great apostasy that followed the apostolic period; the restoration of Christ’s latter-day church in preparation for His Second Coming and the resurrection of His saints; and Christ’s millennial reign of peace on the renewed and paradisiacal earth for 1000 years, followed by the final defeat of Satan’s kingdom at the end of the earth. These topics and many more will be discussed in this podcast as the many symbols and apocalyptic images of Saint John the Divine are explained to unveil Jesus Christ.

[§270] The Spirit of Judas Iscariot Is the False Prophet

This podcast describes the identity of the False Prophet mentioned by John in Revelation 16:13. Judas Iscariot is the False Prophet. His disembodied spirit is the spiritual head of all disembodied spirit sons of perdition in the last days, just as the disembodied spirit of Cain is the spiritual head of all disembodied spirit sons of perdition before the restoration of the gospel in 1830. Similarly, Satan (the Dragon) is the spiritual head of all unembodied spirit sons of perdition. For Judas to be the spiritual head of disembodied spirit sons of perdition, he must also be a son of perdition. This podcast provides many illustrations, examples, and scriptural evidences that Judas did become a son of perdition at the time he betrayed the Savior. This podcast also compares the characteristics and evil dispositions of Cain, who was perdition, and Judas‒whom Jesus specifically identified as a son of perdition. Finally, this podcast addresses the concerns of some scholars and theologians who do not believe Judas became a son of perdition because he did not have the Gift of the Holy Ghost at the time of his betrayal. The scriptures indicate that Judas had his sure witness of the divinity of Jesus Christ from the Father, which means he could and did commit the unpardonable sin when he betrayed the Savior, shed Christ's innocent blood, and put him to an open shame. Jesus knew from the beginning that Judas was a devil, and a son of perdition. Concerning his betrayal, Jesus said that it would have been better for Judas if he had never been born. This clearly puts Judas in the same class as all other unembodied spirit sons of perdition who can never be born.

  2. [§269] The Spirit of Cain Is the Head of the Beast

    vor 5 Tagen

[§269] The Spirit of Cain Is the Head of the Beast

Revelation 16:13 refers to the Dragon, the Beast, and the False Prophet in a single verse. The Dragon is a symbol for the unembodied spirit of Satan who stands at the head of all other unembodied spirit sons of perdition who rebelled with him during the Grand Council in heaven. The Beast and the False Prophet are similar symbols. This podcast explains that the Beast is a symbol for the disembodied spirit of Cain, who became perdition when he murdered his brother Abel. At that time, Satan promised to give Cain his power and authority in Moses 5:30. This promise was fulfilled when Cain became Master Mahan during his mortal life. When Cain died, his disembodied spirit also became the head of Satan’s kingdom in spirit prison of the postmortal spirit world. After the resurrection of Jesus Christ, Cain passed back through the veil of death to become the spiritual head of the Beast on earth as of 70 AD in Revelation 13. As Jesus Christ and righteous resurrected people passed back through the veil between the living and the dead, so also Cain and his disembodied spirit followers were able to do the same. In this way there was an opposition in all these things. According to Revelation 13:2, Satan (the Dragon) then gave Cain (the Beast) “his power, and his seat, and great authority.” Cain’s power on earth as the spiritual head of the Beast will continue until the Seventh Vial Plague of the Third Woe, when the disembodied spirit of Cain shall be cast into the lake of fire and brimstone during Spiritual Armageddon. (Rev 19:20)

[§267] Rev 16:13: Three Unclean Spirits Like Frogs

This podcast explains the imagery used by John in Revelation 16:13 to describe the spiritual cleansing of the earth that will begin with Spiritual Armageddon during the sixth Vial Plague of the Third Woe. In this verse, John saw “three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.” The unclean spirits like frogs symbolize the many myriads of unembodied and disembodied spirit sons of perdition who have their unseen influence and power on the earth. This imagery comes from the plague of frogs in ancient Egypt. In the days of Moses, frogs were worshipped and the Egyptian goddess Heqet had the form of a woman with a frog head. From her nostrils came life and immortality. Nevertheless, Moses caused a plague of frogs in Egypt and God showed his power over these false gods of the Egyptians when all the frogs died and left a great stench in the nostrils of all the people. In John’s vision, three types of unclean spirits symbolically come out of the mouth (nostrils) of the Dragon, the Beast, and the False Prophet. The Dragon represents Satan. He is the spiritual head of the first class of unclean spirits, which are the unembodied spirit sons of perdition that have followed him since the premortal existence. The Beast represents Cain‒the Son of Adam who killed his brother Abel. The disembodied spirit of Cain is the spiritual head of all disembodied spirit sons of perdition who died as mortal sons of perdition from the time of Adam until the gospel was restored in 1830. The False Prophet represents Judas Iscariot, who betrayed the Savior and became the type for all traitors to the truth. The disembodied spirit of Judas is the spiritual head of all disembodied spirit sons of perdition who become apostates of the latter-day church and die as mortal sons of perdition from the time of the restoration in 1830 until the earths spiritual cleansing begins during the sixth Vial Plague of the Third Woe.

[§266] Rev 16:12: The Kings of the East Prepare for Battle

This podcast explains the symbolism used by John to describe the sixth Vial Plague of the Third Woe in Revelation 12:16, which states: “And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared.” In this verse, the kings of the east prepare for Spiritual Armageddon. The kings of the east are the 144,000 servants who will stand with Jesus Christ (the Lamb) on Mount Zion in Revelation 14:1. They are a heavenly host of exalted and exaltation-worthy saints who will accompany Jesus Christ at his second coming, which shall be as the rising sun in the east. These kings of the east are subordinate kings to the "king of Kings." During the sixth Vial Plague, the great river Euphrates symbolically dries up to indicate that these heavenly kings of the east shall face no impediment in their battle against the hosts of hell during the spiritual battle of Armageddon. The hosts of hell consist of both disembodied and unembodied spirit sons of perdition who will be defeated during seventh Vial Plague in Revelation 19:19-20, and Revelation 20:1-3, respectively. John identifies the great river Euphrates because it was the historical boundary between the promised lands given to Abraham on the west side of the river. The kings of the east will symbolically cross the Euphrates River on a dried riverbed to symbolize their easy defeat of Satan’s hosts of hell. This spiritual reality is foreshadowed by the experience of Joshua when he led 600,000 Israelites across the Jordan river into the promised land to battle against the indigenous peoples in Canaan. On that occasion, the waters of the Jordan River dried up so the Israelites faced no impediment when they conquered the promised land.

[§264] Rev 16:10-16: The Fifth and Sixth Vials Are Directed at Evil Spirits

This podcast provides an overview of the fifth and sixth Vial Plagues described by John in Revelation 16:10-16. The overview provides context for a more detailed discussion about the fifth Vial Plague that John describes in Revelation 16:10-11, as follows: “And the fifth angel poured out his vial upon the seat of the beast; and his kingdom was full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues for pain, And blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and repented not of their deeds.” The fifth Vial Plague is antithetically symmetrical with the fifth trumpet plague, which means they are mirror opposites. During the fifth trumpet plague (First Woe), both unembodied and disembodied spirit sons of perdition (“hosts of hell”) are loosed from the bottomless pit with great power and influence in Revelation 9:1-12 to spread spiritual darkness on the physical earth. During the fifth vial plagues, these same hosts of hell have spiritual darkness poured out on them, on the seat (throne) of Satan. This torments them and causes them to gnaw their tongues in pain. Where once these hosts of hell were loosed from the bottomless pit to bring spiritual darkness on the physical world during the First Woe, the tables are reversed and they are tormented by spiritual darkness in preparation for the spiritual battle of Armageddon that will follow. When the host of hell are tormented by the spiritual darkness in their domain, they do not and cannot repent for they are sons of perdition and have committed the unpardonable sin. Therefore, they curse or blaspheme God, whom they know to be the source of their torment. This is shown by the New Testament account of the encounter between Jesus Christ and the man from Gadarenes who was possessed and tormented by a legion of spirits. This legion of evil spirits knew Christ and asked if he had come to torment them before the time? The evil spirits not only knew the Savior as the one who would torment them, but they knew the time of their torment was to be the fifth Vial Plague of the Third Woe. This podcast also provides an overview of Spiritual Armageddon, including the preparations for the battle in Revelation 16:12-16, and the final outcome of that battle where disembodied spirit sons of perdition are cast into the lake of fire in Revelation 19:19-20, while unembodied spirit sons of perdition are cast into the bottomless pit in Revelation 20:1-3.

[§262] Rev 16:5-7: Justice Declared by the Angels of Water and Fire

This podcast explains the imagery and symbols used by John to describe the Vial Plagues of the Third Woe in Revelation 16:5-9. These verses state: “I heard the angel of the waters say, Thou art righteous, O Lord, which art, and wast, and shalt be, because thou hast judged thus. For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and thou hast given them blood to drink; for they are worthy. And I heard another out of the altar say, Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are thy judgments. And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire. And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory.” The two proclamations by the angel of water and the angel of the altar (fire) satisfy the eternal law of witnesses where the truth of God's righteous judgments are established by the testimony of these two angels. After the two witnesses testify of God’s righteous judgments after the first three Vial Plagues, the angel from the altar pours out the fourth Vial Plague that brings intense heat upon the earth and scorches all telestial-worthy people. The effect is opposite the fourth trumpet plague where the sun, moon and stars were dark for a third part of the day. When wicked people are scorched this occurs they will refuse to repent and will curse God knowing that he is the source of their suffering.

[§260] Rev 16:2: First Vial: A Noisome and Grievous Sore on Land

This podcast explains the symbols and imagery used by John to describe the first, second, and third Vial Plagues in Revelation 16:2-4, which state: “And the first went, and poured out his vial upon the earth; and there fell a noisome and grievous sore upon the men which had the mark of the beast, and [upon] them which worshipped his image. And the second angel poured out his vial upon the sea; and it became as the blood of a dead [man]: and every living soul died in the sea. And the third angel poured out his vial upon the rivers and fountains of waters; and they became blood.” The first Vial Plague is foreshadowed by the sixth Egyptian plague where painful boils afflicted the Egyptian people and their animals, while the Israelites were not harmed. During this first plague and the others that follow, telestial-worthy people (who have the mark of the beast) will suffer and die from the effects of the Vial Plagues of the Third Woe, while people who live at least terrestrial law will collectively survive. The second and third Vial Plagues curse the waters of the oceans and freshwater systems, respectively, on a worldwide scale. The curse upon the waters is also mentioned in Doctrine and Covenants 61, where the vision of W. W. Phelps is recorded after he saw the destroyer riding on the waters of the Missouri River. During the second Vial Plague, every sea creature will die in the oceans, whose waters will become like the coagulated and putrid blood of a dead man. When the third Vial Plague occurs quickly after the second Vial Plague, every person will die who drinks the water turned to blood. The curse upon the waters is foreshadowed by the first Egyptian plague were Moses turned the waters of Egypt into blood for a period of seven days.

  8. [§258] An Overview of the Last Seven Vial Plagues in Revelation 16

[§258] An Overview of the Last Seven Vial Plagues in Revelation 16

This podcast provides an explanatory overview of the last seven Vial Plagues of the Third Woe described by John in Revelation chapter 16. This overview includes a comparison between the seven Vial Plagues in Revelation 16 and the seven trumpet plagues in Revelation 8-11. A comparison is also made of the 10 plagues of Egypt in the days of Moses and the plagues called down by the Two Witnesses in Jerusalem who will exercise the Sealing Power. Particular attention is given during this podcast to the last three vial plagues, which include preparations for spiritual Armageddon. This is a spiritual battle that will cleanse the earth of evil spirits, including unembodied and disembodied spirit sons of perdition. This podcast also explains the imagery used by John in Revelation 16:1, which states: “AND I heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels, Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth.” The great voice in this verse is God the father, who directs the seven angels to quickly pour out the last seven Vial Plagues of the Third Woe. The Vial Plagues contain the fullness of the wrath of God. The pouring out of God’s wrath will be full or complete in all the earth at the time of Christ's last appearance of the Second Coming. At that time the earth shall also be transformed from its current telestial condition to its paradisiacal or terrestrial condition for the millennium.
