    Beyond 90 Season 12 Round 8 Wrap

    Beyond 90 Season 12 Round 8 Wrap

In the Beyond 90, round 8 wrap, co-founder of ShePlays Fantasy League Ben Laws is our special guest. Molly and Cheryl round out the panel to discuss the week of W-League football plus Sam Kerr's FAWSL debut with Chelsea.

If you're not across ShePlays already, it may be time to listen in and get some hot tips in this W-League fantasy competition. It's free to play, heaps of fun (even if you're losing).

Ben shares how ShePlays has accelerated Women's football taking over his life. From the early days in 2016 when the competition was between a few friends and managed with an excel spreadsheet, to now with a dedicated website and plans to grow across more leagues.

ShePlays fills a hole in the market with women's sports and leagues often left out of the picture when it comes to fantasy.
Round 8 was cut short, with the Canberra United v Sydney FC match postponed due to smoke from the devastating Australia bushfires whilst the three other matches played out successfully.

Melbourne City took the honours in a tough match against Brisbane Roar. Molly highlights that when City is on, it's just "Bam bam bam" and over.

Ben learnt a valuable lesson from Perth Glory's late equaliser against Adelaide United where Mallory Weber and Crystal Thomas both impressed.

Melbourne Victory scraped past an impressive Newcastle Jets. Darian Jenkins delivered a birthday present goal, while Clare Wheeler bossed in the midfield.

This time last season, a total of 97 goals were in the bag compared to 85 so far in Season 12. Are the forwards failing to fire, or as Molly highlights, we're struggling to see a number 9 in form and the goalkeepers are leading the pack.

Milica Mijatovic keeps climbing up the B90 Player of the Season tally. Who do you think should be in the running for Player of the Season so far?

Sam Kerr had her exciting debut in the FAWSL with Chelsea up against Reading. Kerr was amongst it from the first minutes and already seems to have a great rapport with Chelsea striker and England International Beth England.

Beyond 90 Season 12 Mid Season Wrap

Beyond 90 Season 12 Mid Season Wrap

Crikey, Molly and Groubes have done a runner but we're seriously lucky to have Eric Subijano available to co-host with Cheryl.

After a short Christmas break the awesome duo throw down their mid-season wrap.

Eric has all the news on the Western Sydney Wanderers rewriting their W-League history, including how and why it came about. We discuss the notorious 'theft' of Kyra Cooney-Cross from Melbourne Victory and how it could all just be a big misunderstanding.

Do the Wanderers have a weakness and is Eric willing to announce it?

Melbourne City are sitting on equal points with the Wanderers but the style of wins is quite different, with City looking like they can do so much more.

There's also a quick chat about the Beyond 90 Player of the Season Votes. Who's on top?

With so many close encounters with either a win or a draw for Adelaide United, Eric ponders how many black cats have crossed their path.

Sydney FC look good in third position on the ladder and just one point off the top two, but has it all come together for them yet?

Brisbane Roar may look like they're not in touch, but with four unbeaten games in a row, perhaps they're closer than you think and Eric calls them out as his pick to round out the top four at the end of the season.

Canberra United match Brisbane Roar on the scoreboard and they have some great talent in Simone Charley and youngster Hayley Taylor-Young.

The bottom three teams of Newcastle Jets, Perth Glory and Adelaide United are unlikely to threaten the top four for a spot in the finals but they can certainly cause trouble along the way. Eric and Cheryl discuss the unproven correlation of Matildas allocation and strong international players with how successful teams are in the w-league.

We round out the conversation with a look at the run home for a few teams and Eric gives up his ShePlays fantasy team 'strategy'.

    Beyond 90 Season 12 Round 5 Wrap

    Beyond 90 Season 12 Round 5 Wrap

It's just Molly and Chez again with the latest Beyond 90 Podcast: Season 12 Round 5.

We wrap up the latest round of W-League including the Melbourne Derby. Cheryl has hot tips from her real life boss about the Perth Glory v Canberra United match and Molly confesses that she won't be at the Sydney Derby (not a real fan).

Cheryl spends a bit of time convincing Molly that there should be a W-League All Star match for the fans and pledges to get the ball rolling with FFA.

Is Remy Siemsen doing enough for a Matildas Olympic squad call up. On top of the goalscoring ladder, Siemsen is in great form and could be the #9 backup we're looking for.

Later we chat about the AsOne2023 bid and latest FIFA rankings before the home stretch banter with Molly rocking out her top three for 2019 and what the next ten years will deliver.

All that and more. Get listening.

    Beyond 90 Season 12 Round 4 Wrap

    Beyond 90 Season 12 Round 4 Wrap

It's all happening this pod with Groubes announcing her debut at McKellar Park in the half-time Walking Football exhibition. Groubes then gives us a run down on the Round 4 clash between Canberra United and Brisbane Roar including the intensity on and off the pitch and yet another scoop and sightings.
Molly and Cheryl follow up with their own tales of the Melbourne Victory v Western Sydney Wanderers game out in Morwell. The Victory defenders delivered, the short term fatigue from the Women's Club Championship has dissipated and the longer term benefits are here.
Molly gives a little ode to Lynn Williams, fangirl's Emma Hayes and actually says the words "City were good".
We chat Sam Kerr's move to Chelsea and her being named number one the Guardian's 100 best female footballers in the world with Groubes' vote helping her along the way.
Finally, because we're not busy enough, we're apparantely starting a bookclub, although we're not convinced with the operating format - eg everyone reads the same book, or we all read a random book.
