    Would we miss the opportunity to talk about Alicia Silverstone on the podcast? Ugh, as if!! We wrap up our miniseries, predicting future Oscar nominees by discussing the 90’s teen movie icon. Alongside the unmissable Clueless (Amy Heckerling, 1995) we take in some of Alicia’s other noteworthy roles throughout the episode.     Sixty-nine episodes in and John Magaro may be the best example of a Don’t Know Her? actor... We had seen him in the likes of Orange Is the New Black (2015-2019), Carol (Todd Haynes, 2015) and The Big Short (Adam McKay, 2015) but hadn’t properly noticed him until First Cow (Kelly Reichardt, 2019) and Past Lives (Celine Song, 2023). And wow! His soulful performances are the stuff of magic and we are still surprised how John (along with his co-stars Greta Lee and Teo Yoo) were not Oscar nominated for their work. Join us as we go to the start of John’s career starring alongside Jodie Foster in The Brave One (Neil Jordan, 2007) and award-winning lead performance in Not Fade Away (David Chase, 2012) though to Past Lives.
