  1. Serena Williams to play Wimbledon singles, Draper + Murray in action + Vondrousova ban!

Serena Williams to play Wimbledon singles, Draper + Murray in action + Vondrousova ban!

The countdown to Wimbledon is well and truly on, and there is plenty to unpack from a dramatic week on the grass courts. We react to the stunning news that Serena Williams has been awarded a Wimbledon singles wildcard, discuss the mixed reaction to her return online, and debate who we would like her to face in a blockbuster first-round encounter (Osaka! Raducanu! Harmony Tan!). On the ATP Tour, Francisco Cerundolo claimed the biggest title of his career at Queen’s Club, while Frances Tiafoe made history in Halle by becoming the first American champion in the tournament’s history. We also assess what their victories mean for the Wimbledon title race, and how likely could a first US men’s champion be since Andy Roddick at the 2003 US Open with Fritz, Shelton and Paul all in fine form. Elsewhere, we discuss Jack Draper’s return to action with new coach Andy Murray by his side, Corentin Moutet’s expletive-laden controversial $40,000 fine at Queen’s, and the shocking four-year suspension handed to former Wimbledon champion Marketa Vondrousova. Did the punishments fit the crime? Plus, we preview the final week before SW19 with tournaments in Eastbourne, Bad Homburg and Mallorca. Emma Raducanu is BACK, Shelton wins Stuttgart + Wimbledon Wildcard updates!

The grass-court season is officially underway, and there is no shortage of talking points from a busy first week on the lawns. We break down Emma Raducanu’s impressive run to the Queen’s Club final, where she was denied the title by lucky loser Donna Vekic, and discuss what her resurgence under former US Open-winning coach Andrew Richardson could mean for her Wimbledon prospects. We also look at Serena Williams’ long-awaited return to competition and the possibility of a blockbuster Wimbledon doubles reunion with sister Venus (!!!). On the ATP Tour, Ben Shelton claimed the first grass-court title of his career in Stuttgart, while Kamil Majchrzak completed a remarkable week in ’s-Hertogenbosch, defeating three Top 10 players to secure his maiden ATP crown. Elsewhere, we debate Wimbledon’s record 20% prize-money increase and whether it will be enough to ease tensions between players and the Grand Slams. We also tackle the wildcard debate, including Tatjana Maria’s route through qualifying and whether retiring Brit Dan Evans deserves a main-draw spot at SW19. Plus, we preview a stacked week of action in Halle, Berlin and Queen’s as the countdown to Wimbledon continues. Roland-Garros Day 15: Zverev finally gets a grand slam title!

Alexander Zverev is finally a Grand Slam champion! The whole gang is back at Tennis Weekly HQ to react to the German’s dramatic five-set victory over Flavio Cobolli in the 2026 Roland Garros final, as he captures his maiden major title at the fourth attempt and becomes the first German man to win a Grand Slam singles title since 1996. The team discuss where the match was won and lost, whether the pressure is now off Zverev heading into the rest of the season, and how this year’s French Open will be remembered after a fortnight packed with shocks, breakthrough stars and unexpected storylines. They also address the ‘anyone but Zverev’ chants and why Zverev might not be the most popular champion plus who their picks are for the next first-time Grand Slam champion. Away from Paris, attention turns to the grass-court season as Serena Williams speaks publicly for the first time ahead of her highly anticipated return to professional tennis at Queen’s Club. Joel was on hand to breathe it all in - including her practice session with Victoria Mboko - to give the real verdict on how she is shaping up ahead of her return. 5. Roland-Garros Day 14: Mirra Andreeva ends Chwalińska's dream run to win first grand slam title!

    6 Jun

Roland-Garros Day 14: Mirra Andreeva ends Chwalińska's dream run to win first grand slam title!

Mirra Andreeva has done it! She is now a grand slam champion, defeating Maja Chwalinska in the final to secure her maiden grand slam title. She becomes the youngest player since Monica Seles to win and the first teenager since Iga Swiatek in 2020. She made it look easy on finals day against a tricky opponent coming through in straight sets 6-3 6-2 in just under an hour and a half. Chris and Kim reflect on the victory - how Andreeva has matured and how high she can go and whether she will win more slams this year. They also talk about Maja Chwalinska's incredible run from qualifying all the way to the final in Paris winning 9 matches in a row before becoming unstuck by a world class opponent. They talk about what is in store for her - whether Wimbledon will grant her a wild card which would make her the first player in history to be both a wild card and seed a the championships and what she should do if she doesn't receive one. They also unpack the doubles action as Marcel Granollers and Horacio Zeballos defend their title in men’s doubles and in the wheelchairs Alfie Hewitt went down to Oda but won a 7th successive doubles title on the clay! 6. Roland-Garros Day 13: Zverev to meet Cobolli in final after Arnaldi withdrawal

    5 Jun

Roland-Garros Day 13: Zverev to meet Cobolli in final after Arnaldi withdrawal

Alexander Zverev is through to the Roland Garros final and now stands just one win away from a maiden Grand Slam title. Joel and Chris react to the German’s four-set victory over Jakub Mensik, discussing the key moments that decided the match, whether Mensik’s incredible fortnight in Paris finally caught up with him, and what the result means for the Czech teenager’s future. The team also debate the role of mental coaching at the highest level after Andre Agassi questioned Mensik’s decision to bring his sports psychologist into camp for the semi-finals. The biggest drama, however, came off court as Matteo Arnaldi was forced to withdraw from his maiden Grand Slam semi-final just hours before facing fellow Italian Flavio Cobolli due to a viral illness. The team assesses the impact of the late withdrawal, what it means for Cobolli’s remarkable run to the final, and preview Sunday's championship match - will Zverev finally get the job done? Plus, British wheelchair stars Alfie Hewett and Gordon Reid claim a seventh Roland Garros doubles title, and the team look ahead to the women’s final between Mirra Andreeva and surprise finalist Maja Chwalinska. Roland-Garros Day 12: Qualifier Chwalińska to face Andreeva in Final

The most unexpected women’s Roland Garros final in recent memory is set! Joel and Kim react to a dramatic day of women’s semi-final action as teenage sensation Mirra Andreeva powered past Marta Kostyuk to reach the first Grand Slam final of her career, while Polish qualifier Maja Chwalinska continued her fairytale run in Paris to become the first qualifier in the Open Era to reach the Roland Garros women’s final. The team break down both semi-finals, discuss how Andreeva turned the tables on Kostyuk after earlier defeats this season, whether Chwalinska will finally catch up with her in Paris after her *ninth* match in total and preview a fascinating championship match between two first-time Grand Slam finalists. Away from the singles action, Serena Williams took to the practice court at Queen’s Club ahead of her much-anticipated return to professional tennis, while British hopes received a boost as Henry Patten and Harri Heliovaara reached the French Open men’s doubles final without dropping a set. Plus, Joel and Kim look ahead to Day 13 in Paris with men’s semi-final action on the horizon, including Alexander Zverev versus Jakub Mensik for a place in the Roland Garros final.
