Series 7, Episode 9: Dreaming Beyond Death: Near Death Experiences and dreaming

Laura meets leading researcher into Near Death Experiences (NDE's), Dr Nicole Lindsay, to explore the fascinating relationship between near-death experiences and dreaming. The discussion explores how NDEs can transform individuals' perceptions of life and death, their dream experiences, and the psychological after-effects that often accompany such profound experiences when they realise they have come back from death. The conversation takes a twist when both Laura and Nicole talk about their own NDE's and the effect that is having on the podcast due to the odd electromagnetic fields NDE'ers can project: in this case Laura can't use the recording studio's platform video function. Nicole highlights the growing acceptance of NDE research, despite earlier stigmas, and its implications for understanding different aspects of consciousness and spirituality. They discuss how significant events like 9-11can manifest in dreams, the psychological and neurological shifts that occur post-NDE, and the importance of integrating these experiences. The dialogue also touches on the role of meditation in enhancing lucid dreaming and the fascinating phenomenon of merging consciousness in dream states. Overall, the conversation highlights the commonality of NDEs and the growing understanding of these experiences in both scientific and spiritual contexts. takeaways Dr Nicole Lindsay and her research can be found at: https://www.massey.ac.nz/massey/expertise/profile.cfm?stref=405612   Your dreams are worth inquiring about too!
