    Fertility Myths Debunked

Read the full shownotes on Dr. Aimee's website: click here. Do you think you can put botox in your ovaries? You know, plump up those older eggs to regain their youthfulness? Nope, sorry. Not possible. Or have you thought that because you can take a youthful looking selfie, and feel great, that your fertility must be picture perfect too? Nope, sorry. Good selfies don't equal good fertility. But you're not dumb. You know that. But there may be some tricky information out there that you're not entirely sure if it's true. Fertility isn't surface level. It's not skin-deep. It's biology. It's what's deep inside, and yet impacted by what's outside of you too. Suffice to say, it can be complex. Which is why I'm here. I'm certainly a fertility doctor with over a decade of training and advanced degrees that have gotten me to the point where I finally know how to make a baby. And I want to share what I know with all of you. My Book, The Egg Whisperer Way comes out in Summer of 2026. Click here to order your copy. Do you have questions about IVF? Everything You've Ever Wanted to Ask an Embryologist with Lucy Lines

Lucy Lines began her career as an embryologist, starting at Monash IVF in Melbourne in 2001. She worked in fertility clinics around the world, and consulted in clinics throughout Europe, the UK, and Australia. She realized that in addition to creating babies, she also loves learning and helping people. Having faced infertility and IVF herself, she now works as an educator and coach for fertility patients. Her Instagram account is refreshing and informative, and I love that she says she will, "happily answer all the questions you've saved for the day you got to meet an embryologist." I've met a few embryologists myself, and I love Lucy's great energy. Join us today on the Egg Whisperer Show Podcast as I ask Lucy all about being an embryologist and we talk all about embryos and bust a few myths together. Read the full show notes on the website. Pros and Cons of IVF

It seems like everyone is doing IVF. You hear about it in the news. You hear about it in different articles. You hear about it from your neighbors, your friends, so many different people are doing IVF. Everyone is giving different bits of information, but what are you supposed to believe? Today I want to share about the risks of IVF so you know what you're getting yourself into. IVF allows you to preserve embryos for the future, genetically test embryos, and it does offer the highest pregnancy rate of current fertility treatments.  In this episode, I'm sharing: - The basics of IVF: fertility preservation and genetic testing - Managing the stress and emotional side of IVF treatment - The physical impact of IVF on your body - OHSS - The chances of pregnancy with IVF (it's not 100%) - IVF and chance of multiples (twins, triplets) - Myths about IVF Do you have questions about IVF, and what to expect? 4. The Fertility Formula: Hormones, Inflammation, and the Truth About Optimizing Fertility with Dr. Natalie Crawford

The Fertility Formula: Hormones, Inflammation, and the Truth About Optimizing Fertility with Dr. Natalie Crawford

In this episode, I'm joined by one of my favorite fellow fertility doctors - Dr. Natalie Crawford, a board-certified reproductive endocrinologist and infertility specialist, co-founder of Fora Fertility in Austin, Texas, host of the As a Woman podcast, and author of the brand-new book The Fertility Formula.  Dr. Crawford's journey into reproductive medicine is deeply personal: after experiencing four pregnancy losses and feeling dismissed by the medical system, she channeled that pain into a career dedicated to making sure no patient ever feels unheard or uninformed. Her book brings together the science of hormones, inflammation, cycle tracking, lifestyle, and fertility treatment in a way that is truly empowering and accessible. In our conversation, Natalie and I get honest about what modern fertility medicine often gets wrong, and what we can actually do about it. We explore how chronic inflammation is quietly hijacking fertility, how your menstrual cycle is far more than just a monthly event, and why the "it's just your age" or "it's just bad luck" narratives do a real disservice to patients. This is the kind of honest, science-backed, whole-body conversation I wish every fertility patient could have before they ever walked into a clinic. Read the full show notes on my website. In this episode, we cover: How chronic inflammation affects egg and sperm quality, hormonal signaling, and IVF outcomes, and what you can do to lower your inflammatory burden Why your menstrual cycle is a vital sign, and how to track it accurately to detect ovulation disorders before they cost you time The connection between fertility and long-term overall health, and why unexplained infertility may be a symptom of deeper metabolic imbalance How age impacts fertility  and why it's not the whole story when it comes to egg quality and cellular health Myth-busting: diet alone, cannabis use while trying to conceive, and whether fertility is just about luck When to seek a problem-focused appointment (not just wait for your annual exam) for irregular, painful, or missing periods Why lifestyle optimization and fertility treatment are not either/or, and how to do both without guilt or confusion Resources: The Fertility Formula by Dr. Natalie Crawford -  available wherever books are sold  Dr. Natalie Crawford online: @NatalieCrawfordMD (Instagram/social media) As a Woman Podcast, hosted by Dr. Natalie Crawford Fora Fertility: Dr. Crawford's practice in Austin, Texas: forafertility.com Natural Cycles app (for BBT-based cycle tracking) Oura Ring (wearable for basal body temperature tracking)  Apple Watch (wearable for BBT/cycle tracking with Natural Cycles)   Would you like to learn more about IVF? How to Approach IVF Challenges with guest Dr John Norian

In this episode of The Egg Whisperer Show, I sit down with the incredible Dr. John Norian, a board-certified OB-GYN and Reproductive Endocrinologist with HRC Fertility in Pasadena and Rancho Cucamonga, California. Dr. Norian completed his residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, his fellowship at the NIH, and has served as a Lieutenant Commander in the U.S. Public Health Service, providing care to military families. He is a passionate advocate for anyone on a fertility journey, regardless of relationship status or anatomy. We dive deep into some of the most frustrating and complex scenarios that can arise during an IVF cycle:  the ones that leave patients (and sometimes doctors!) searching for answers. Dr. Norian brings his signature warmth, humor, and clinical depth to each challenge, and I think you'll walk away from this episode feeling more informed, empowered, and a little less alone if you've faced any of these situations yourself. In this episode, we cover: What to do when no eggs are retrieved at egg retrieval, including how trigger shot issues and empty follicle syndrome are investigated How to handle immature eggs and what protocol changes (like adjusting trigger timing or adding FSH) can improve egg maturity in future cycles Causes of failed fertilization and solutions like ICSI, calcium ionophore, and PICSI What to do when there's no sperm on retrieval day, including sperm emergencies, unexpected testosterone use, and surgical sperm retrieval options Why embryos may arrest before reaching blastocyst stage and how egg energy (mitochondrial health) plays a role Managing chromosomally abnormal embryos and when to consider karyotyping for recurrent IVF failure Thin uterine lining solutions, from injectable estrogen protocols to Viagra, pentoxifylline, vitamin E, and hyperbaric oxygen therapy Handling uterine fluid before transfer and options for patients who cannot tolerate injections or hormones Resources: Read the full show notes on Dr. Aimee's website Find Dr. John Norian at his website. 6. How to Create Your Own Personalized IVF Plan

How to Create Your Own Personalized IVF Plan

Today on the podcast, I'm talking all about how you can create your own personalized IVF Plan. Have you ever used Google Maps and been redirected midway via a better route? Alternatively, maybe you're proactive in managing traffic and go directly to Waze to get you from point A to point B in the most time effective way? These apps are well-loved and widely used because they remove obstacles out of an otherwise potentially painful process, and they do so with data. I bring the beauty of Google Maps into my fertility care by serving as a personal navigator for every one of my patient's IVF care and talked about it here. We tell these apps where we want to go, they determine our starting point and formulate a plan. It's not a one-size fits-all-route; it is customized and updated in real-time to avoid the proverbial bumps along the way. I would get lost daily without this personalized navigation. Secondary Infertility

Secondary infertility affects so many of my patients. In today's podcast episode, I'm talking about what happens when someone has no trouble getting pregnant for baby number one and then struggles to conceive another child. People in this situation often don't know what to do because this is so new to them. I'm sharing everything you need to know about secondary infertility: the causes, treatments, and some of my tips. The truth is, secondary infertility is overwhelming and upsetting. You want to make sure that you have people around that support you, so I also encourage you to share this episode with your family and friends, so they know how to support you going through something that can be soul-crushing. I'm a very positive person, but I understand how hard it is to be a fertility patient.  Read the full show notes and transcript on Dr. Aimee's website Buy Dr. Aimee's Book "The Egg Whisperer Way" on Amazon!
