Something worth fighting for, a sense of direction
I strongly recommend “The oath with Chuck Rosenberg” podcast.
I just listened to the season finale of season 3 with Captain Sully Sullenberger, and it was moving. Not just because of the narrative of an extraordinarily level head on flight US1549 but also for the general sense of responsibility and civic duty.
That sense of duty is espoused by Chuck and by his other memorable guests, like James Comey, James Baker, Preet Bhahara, Andy McCabe and many others.
I literally had goosebumps and shed tears near the conclusion of this latest episode.
It gives me heart that there are responsible, ethical professionals out there, living and breathing an ethos that made America and many other countries great:
A sense of direction, a moral compass, a sense of civic duty, an ethic of continuous learning and focus on facts and truth; a willingness to sacrifice for the greater good
It may sound corny and I was afraid it was dying out under Trump and Johnson but I believe it is strong and alive and well worth fighting for.
