    The portal is no longer whispering. It’s speaking. As night falls over the outpost, Annabel, Quinn, Miller, and Thelandor keep watch over the mysterious gateway that has dominated every conversation since their return from Norvale. Rumors swirl throughout camp. Bram Deepwood remains as suspicious as ever. And the portal itself seems determined to draw attention. 🌌👁️ While Miller and Thelandor patrol the area, Annabel and Quinn sit together beneath the strange glow of the portal, staring into its shifting depths and hoping for answers. Instead, they receive something far more unsettling. A name, a voice, a command. The portal speaks directly to them, repeating a word neither of them has ever heard before: Neithera. Then, as the strange vision deepens, the message becomes even more personal. “Annabel, thy Neithera, come.” 🔮🕯️ Neither Annabel nor Quinn recognize the name. No story. No legend. No memory connects to it. Yet the voice feels deliberate, intelligent, and impossible to ignore. Before they can make sense of what happened, another problem arrives. Bram. Wrapped in a dark cloak and moving through the camp with suspicious confidence, Bram approaches the portal under cover of night. What follows is a tense confrontation with the guards as he insists that the outpost leadership has granted him permission to enter the gateway. 🌑⚔️ Whether he is telling the truth—or manipulating everyone around him—remains unclear.     Sleep doesn’t last long in Crownfall. As the party continues their cautious journey back toward the outpost, Annabel hears something chilling during her watch—a distant scream echoing through the darkness of the forest. Not once, but twice. 🌙🌲 The sound is wrong. Muffled. Painful. Desperate. Unsure whether it’s a trap, a prisoner, or something even stranger, Annabel and Quinn immediately begin investigating. Familiars are sent into the night. Headcounts are taken. Bram is watched closely. But the scream remains unexplained. 👁️ Soon, Miller and Thelandor are awakened, and the four adventurers make a choice that has become all too familiar: They head straight toward the danger. ⚔️ Guided only by moonlight and instinct, Annabel, Quinn, Miller, and Thelandor push deeper into the woods until they discover a small lean-to hidden among the trees. A campfire burns softly beneath it. Two figures sit in the darkness. And one of them appears to be the source of the screams. 🔥 But as the party watches from a distance, something feels off. The stranger calls himself Bram Deepwood—a traveler claiming he only wanted safety in numbers after surviving the fall of Norvale. 🌲🌑 But something doesn’t add up. No one recognizes him.  His answers feel rehearsed.  And worst of all… Thelandor’s divine senses detect unmistakable evil radiating from him. 👁️⚔️ Weapons are drawn instantly. Annabel presses a blade to Bram’s throat while Quinn studies every reaction, especially when her glowing prism staff catches his attention. Miller questions the stranger directly, frustrated by vague answers and half-truths. But through it all, Bram remains unsettlingly calm—as if none of this frightens him in the slightest. 🩸 The deeper the conversation goes, the stranger the encounter becomes. Bram speaks like someone who knows more than he should. His words twist strangely around forgiveness, travel, and survival. Gnolls swarm the streets, magic tears through the battlefield, and now a terrifying new threat has joined the combat—a massive roc descending into the chaos with devastating force. 🪽🔥 The party is pushed to its limits. Annabel fights to stay alive as the battlefield collapses around her. Quinn unleashes eldritch power into the monstrous creature while desperately trying to keep her companions standing. Miller throws himself into danger again and again, refusing to back down even as the roc turns its attention directly toward him. And Thelandor continues to anchor the group as the fight threatens to completely overwhelm them. ⚔️🛡️ In the middle of the chaos, one of the party falls unconscious. For a brief moment, it feels like the battle may already be lost. But Crownfall isn’t about clean victories. It’s about surviving long enough to make the next choice.
