What started as a request for a refund escalated into harassment, violence, and wrongful detention. While in custody, Dara faced inhumane conditions; she and her family were subjected to: - Police intimidation and abuse - Inhumane detention conditions - Denial of basic hygiene during menstruation - Illegal transfer to a distant prison Yet, from this painful experience came a powerful mission. Dara founded PADANIMATE, an initiative that provides free sanitary products to women in prison and combats period poverty. This story sheds light on critical issues affecting women in Nigeria today.
