Model Jessica Gomes has spent three decades in the spotlight after first stepping into deportment classes at age 10. What began as a way for her mum to help her navigate racism and bullying at school turned into a global career – from gracing the pages of the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue to being the long-time face of David Jones, launching her own beauty line, and even trying her hand at acting.
Now, as she turns 40, Jess says she feels more content and grounded than ever. Having swapped Los Angeles for a slower life in Byron Bay, she opens up about ageing in the modelling industry, diversity and body image, the infamous role she turned down in Robin Thicke’s ‘Blurred Lines’ video, her honest thoughts on botox, and the one question she’s tired of being asked.
