Marbella Youth Entrepreneurs & DJ Hugel

Welcome to this week's episode of Marbella with Him & Her, your weekly Marbella podcast presented by PJ Lopez (@pjlopez1marbella) and Hannah Murray (@radiohannah). Hannah's father and Sheila went over for Easter lunch, and PJ attempted to make some corn ribs. Find out what Hannah thought about his attempt. They are already addicted to the Celebrity Jungle in South Africa, and their cat Poppy seems quite taken by it as well. But they are not sure whether it is Ant and Dec or David Haye naked in the shower that is keeping her attention. PJ shared some information on the San Pedro Guide (@sanpedromarbellaguide) about a festival coming in up in May at the San Pedro feria ground called the REVE festival with French DJ Hugel. There seems to be quite a lot of interest because within just a few days the post had 70,000 views. Some interview highlights from Hannah this week, included one with a lady called Gill Whitty Collins talking about her book How To Win At Work. It was about how few women there are at the top of many big companies, which led onto a good discussion between Hannah and PJ. She also chatted with Helen Thorn from a popular podcast called Scummy Mummies about her book, How To Face Big Change And Come Back Stronger. Another interview highlight from the week was with Dallas Campbell who is a science and space tv presenter who covered the recent Artemis II space mission. Hannah's exercise quest continued with two Pilates classes at Studio 34 this week. She went to an additional full body class on Friday, which she said was definitely one of the hardest she had ever done. Will she go back? Listen for her thoughts. Her Friday brunch was not at Amber Chou it was next door at Kookento, which was delicious. They have news about why Amber Chou is closed at the moment. Both PJ and Hannah joined the Friday Frolics group for a lovely meal at Bombay Grill Indian restaurant in San Pedro to celebrate their friend Paul Wharmby's birthday. They also discuss Hannah's hormones and a very strange experience she had on Thursday night and then a different experience on Friday after Pilates. They have news about what is happening at the former Sisu Hotel complex between San Pedro and Puerto Banus. Saturday, they went to watch The Marbella Youth Entrepreneur Cup at the Pool in Marbella hosted by The Pool of Talents (@thepooloftalents). It was a Dragon's Den style format where young school aged entrepreneurs had three minutes to present their business or business idea to a panel of three judges / investors. The winner received €3,000 seed money for their project. Listen to see who won. They went for a stroll on Sunday morning before recording this latest episode of Marbella with Him & Her. They noticed that there is a new information centre pod on the paseo and more sets of toilets. They also noticed that Tantra Indian Restaurant is now just Exotica, an extension of the main Exotica eatery. This week's news articles from collaborators The Euro Weekly News included the upcoming air traffic control strike which will be affecting certain airports throughout Spain, a new rule that about texting while crossing a road which could result in an €80 fine and the temperature jump expected in the next few days in Spain. PJ also includes something he saw online that says overtaking in a tunnel could result in a €500 fine. As always, we ask to please give the podcast a follow as well as their sponsors @thehoganstand their San Pedro Guide, the podcast Instagram @marbella_with_him_and_her and their private accounts (if you want to).

    On the Radio...in Marbella

Marbella with Him & Her start with an apology as the podcast was delayed the previous week due to a technical issue with the podcast distributor. It was fixed but many listeners did not get it until late Monday evening. While she was filming it was the one year anniversary of the death of her boyfriend, which also happened to be on her birthday. She shares some lovely stories about coping with grief. Friday, they enjoyed a very impromptu evening with Aoife and Meadhbh who had messaged to say they were having the Indonesian meatballs at La Kasita Tapas in San Pedro. Hannah was the only one that had not had them, so it resulted in PJ and Hannah joining them for the rest of the evening. Saturday morning, despite a late night beforehand, Hannah still managed to get up and do the rooftop Pilates session at Alegre Studios in Puerto Banus which was a CBD inspired session hosted by Lenny and Claire. Saturday evening they went to dinner with friends Ross and Amy which ended with them playing the fun game called the Sound Game, with the kids as well. They start the episode by chatting about their first weekend back from the UK and helping their friends Aoife and Meadhbh move to their new apartment on the beachfront of San Pedro. They also chat about the viral social media sensation around Punch the baby monkey, and a post PJ put up on the San Pedro Guide  (@sanpedromarbellaguide). It received a negative comment from a 'keyboard warrior' who totally missed the light-hearted aspect of the post. But it did lead them into chatting about animal cruelty in general and the donkey's plight in Mijas. Hannah speaks about some of the interviews she did on her radio show during the week, which included one with Zack Rogow called the Kama Sutra for Senior Citizens...and other poems on ageing.  She also interviewed King Moore, a 10 year old singer/rapper who would like the world to be a better place by bringing people together through music. "It is awfully fly for a white boy...in Marbella!!"

Welcome to the latest episode of Marbella with Him & Her, fresh from their brief UK trip, presented as always by husband and wife duo PJ Lopez (@pjlopez1marbella) and Hannah Murray (@radiohannah). In this bumper episode they speak about the progress they are making with their rescue cat Poppy who is getting more affectionate and trusting. PJ speaks about a dream he had about Poppy and their previous cat Nelly, which also bizarrely included Hannah’s work colleague Giles Brown! Hannah continues her fitness quest by trying out a new Pilates studio in San Pedro with Nicole King. Listen to see how they got on. That same evening Hannah was booked in to Club Fit Estepona which was a dance fitness class complete with glow sticks. Listen to see why nonstop jumping is not safe for some women! Podcast listener and Hogan Stand quizzer Matt got in touch to voice the fact that he thought it was 'outrageous' that PJ did not remember the Scatman John hit! Hannah shares some highlights from interviews she did for her radio show which included one with Jamie Hailstone who tells the story about how much Chris Rea hated the song Driving Home for Christmas. She also interviewed Rowan McCabe about his door-to-door poetry. Another interesting interview was with Kathy Slack and her book Rough Patch which explains her journey from a corporate career in the City to gardening. It made Hannah feel a little better about killing the tomato plant they had when she explained that they are the hardest plants to keep alive. Another interview was with Carla Ciccone about ADHD in women and how it manifests in a different way to boys. They speak at length about their trip to the UK for PJ's stepfather’s 80th birthday and the different food they had while there. There is also a comical moment from the pilot of the flight and his reference to Little Britain. Hannah tries to explain her early morning glass of Cava away likening it to comedian and podcaster Joanne McNally and her 'Space Gin' which is drinking in mid-air and does not have the same rules as drinking on the ground. But PJ reminds Hannah she WAS on the ground! There is some laughter about PJ and his line 'It is Awfully Fly For A White Boy'. They also discuss the terrible potholes that are on every road in the UK and how much worse they are than Spain. After speaking about Leann Rhimes suggestion that the key to a successful marriage is to argue naked, they go on to speak about the new Lidl which has opened in San Pedro, and the upcoming rehearsed play reading and poetry night at a new venue for International Theatre Studio, Havana 65 in San Pedro. The night is called Cocktails & Entertainment. PJ brings up the viral social media stir around Punch the baby monkey that was rejected by his mother and bullied by the other monkeys. But there is some good news!
