    Join Andrew Duffen and NAPIT member Ricky Byrne for a special episode of WATT'S Current Podcast, as Ricky shares the story of his career in the electrical industry. From first getting involved with electrics as a teenager to working across commercial, industrial and testing environments, Ricky reflects on the experiences, challenges and opportunities that shaped him as an electrician. The conversation explores Ricky’s time in inspection and testing, his progression into a Qualified Supervisor role, the responsibility that comes with signing off electrical work, and some of the lessons he learned while managing and supporting other engineers. Ricky also opens up about the setbacks along the way, including navigating the 2008 recession, losing his job after standing up for a colleague and eventually deciding it was “now or never” as he took the leap to start Burn Electrical Limited in 2022.
