21 Tests Podcast

David & Joel Gelbart

A daily forensic look at Australian Test Cricket over the next 12 months in which Australia play an unprecedented 21 Test matches. David Gelbart & 11 y.o. assistant producer Joel Gelbart kick off with the top-end series in Australia vs Bangladesh and we end up in England in the Australian winter of 2027 where we will attempt to win the Ashes abroad for the first time in 26 long, hard years.  We can already sense the burning questions of who will be in that Australian X1 in that 5th Ashes Test at the Oval. Dave & Joel will be reporting in on most test playing days at the end of the days play including some episodes from live at Test venues in Mackay, Adelaide, Melbourne & a yet to be determined Test match or 2 from India. David is a cricketing expert in all of the 3 major formats of the game - front yard, back yard and Club X1  3rds and we feel that gives him the perfect background and experience to comment on all things Australian Test cricket over the next 12 months that will see Australia play 21 Tests in 4 different countries. Dave's age gives historical context to the pod given he is a few months short of a scrappy half century and he recalls his "cricketing" life began tuning into overnight radio broadcasts of the 1989 Ashes series. Joel is 11 going on "28" in cricketing maturity years and is a budding young all-rounder, excellent fielder and has a good cricketing head on his shoulders already. His knowledge and experience in both technology and cricket leave his 50 y.o. dinosaur of a father in his wake and we can assure you this pod would not exist without his input.
