    Student of the Dog - 8 Years, 50 Workshops

    In this episode we reflect on 8 years of running our Student of the Dog Workshops. Where we teach people the Jentle Method leadwork, work through any behaviors a dog has or shows us during the workshop, you name it and we have probably seen it at a workshop. We build 2 way communication between a person and dog and lay a foundation of connection that the pair can return to in times of need or whenever they would like. We discuss what to expect and suggestions when participating or auditing, a few stories, changes we have made to the program and the unique opportunity that comes when working with a dog through the Jentle Method in person. This path is one that is vastly different from other dog training or handling techniques, we discuss this and so much more in this episode.

    Choices: Suffering, Giving, Red Bull (with Jacqulene Brzozowski)

    In this episode we are delighted to have Jacqulene Brzozowski of Jac's Pack as our guest. We discuss her journey in finding her way to dog handling from the corporate world and the struggles of going against the grain. We cover choices in life, their consequences and the immense opportunities they offer. We discuss different forms of reactivity and how we move through them in the Jentle Method. Choosing feeling over money and how peoples hearts and desire to give back to dogs can lead to difficult situations.

    Leaving the Dog Industry & Emotional Frequency (with Anne Ortiz)

    In this episode we are fortunate to have Anne Ortiz from DogFit Dallas as our guest. Having helped build a successful dog business, we discuss the driving factors and influences in her leaving the dog industry and the growth and challenges associated with such a big life change. We discuss her experience with, and the difference between the Jentle Method vs mainstream forms of dog training and techniques we used in the past. We also go into emotional frequency and its correlation and influence in popular dog training methods such as positive only, balanced training, dog psychology and obedience. As well as using this framework to discuss the differences path the Jentle Method offers.

We delve into Feeling and our observations and experiences regarding its gradation, dichotomy and the subsequent influence it has in peoples actions and dog handling. We answer the question, what is Feeling to us. The importance of Feeling, and how it has, and continues to share and evaluate our existence. We talk through our views on different dog handling techniques and components of life with dogs through the lens of Feeling.

    Domesticated Dogs

    In this episode we discuss dogs from the angles of being a dog or a fully domesticated ("finished") one and what that looks and feels like to us. We discuss our experiences with dog psychology, nature vs nurture, force, obedience, shock collars, treats and our thoughts and observations in their influence in stagnating or elevating a dogs ability to feel more harmony in life, beyond their senses and instincts. We draw parallels from natural horsemanship, transcendental meditation, service animals and the Jentle Method and their limitlessness

    All Possibilities

    In this episode we delve into the concept and personal experience of culturing our awareness of all possibilities and the subsequent peace, harmony, skill and equanimity it has fostered in our lives as well as the beings in our care. This has brought more clarity in navigating the ups and downs in life and ultimately finding more awareness, respect, empathy and compassion towards everyone and everything. Our hope is that this podcast serves as a foundation by which listeners can gain more insight into how we see and feel things on a more subtle level and sets stage for the following podcasts where we will be expressing deeper thoughts and feelings of the dog industry as a whole.

    The Oregon Tails Pack

    In this episode we discuss the Oregon Tails Pack, its inception, evolution, experiences with dog psychology, shock collars and other tools, our trials and tribulations over the last 16 years and getting to complete harmony with the dogs in our care through feeling and handling them differently than the rest of the dog industry. The Oregon Tails Pack has always been an off-leash service on unfenced property with no breed restrictions and at its peak, was 55+ dogs of all ages, behavior types and breeds and disciplines. It has and continues to be our heart and joy, how we learned about dogs, developed the Jentle Method and have spent many thousands of hours growing in feeling, skill, knowledge and most of all, enjoyment alongside dogs.
