They discuss AVS’ approach to intravascular lithotripsy, their PULSE IVL technology, and more. Amplitude Vascular Systems is an early-stage medical device company that is focused on safely and effectively treating severely calcified arterial disease. AVS is the first company to develop the Pulse IVL™ System, a device that delivers intravascular lithotripsy therapy through a balloon-based platform. It is designed to be the only minimally invasive technology that gently shatters calcium and opens the artery using a single device. Robert Chisena is a co-founder and the Chief Technology Officer at AVS. He leads research and product development. Robert founded AVS in 2019 with Dr. Hitinder Gurm at the University of Michigan. Sean Gilligan is the Chief Operations Officer at AVS. Before joining the Company, Sean was the Vice President of Program Management, R&D at Boston Scientific.
