    This month’s episode of my dad’s podcast Ending Well has been years in the writing. It brings together a deep understanding of pain and the theology of suffering. It’s one thing to think about it, but another to hear it from someone living through an uncertain yet hopeful journey. What do you do when someone says you are healed? There are many paths to take after hearing this—but which is the right one? It finishes with the song Tuhia by the kiwi band Te Rautini.

    This is Episode 14 of my dad’s podcast, Ending Well. In this series, he shares what it’s really like to live with cancer and to keep choosing faith, even when the road is uncertain. A couple of months ago, he described this season of life as sitting at the departure gate of an airport. Today, he takes that picture a step further and talks about the border control of heaven. This podcast also contains the song Trusty and True, written and performed by Damien Rice.

    This is episode 12 of my dad’s podcast, and I remember when I first watched the movie Dead Poets’ Society, it gave me a love of poetry, of simple words and phrases that combined can mean something so powerful, and the final scene still moves me today. That same vibe, that truth is felt in the words of my dad’s podcast this month. The final song is called Be A Refuge, which is used by permission of the artist and friend of my father, Steven Faux.
