    76. The Bible Led Me To Atheism | Eve Was Framed (Promise's Story)

    Promise, known as Eve Was Framed, was raised in charismatic Christianity where speaking in tongues, prophecy, mission trips, and supernatural experiences were a normal part of life. She eventually attended Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry (BSSM) and expected her faith to continue growing. But when Promise began studying the Bible more deeply in hopes of answering questions from her atheist friends, she instead found herself wrestling with passages and beliefs that no longer made sense to her. In this episode, we discuss charismatic Christianity, BSSM, deconstruction, becoming an atheist, and her new book, Gospel of Lies.     73. Raised Pentecostal: Hell, Healing, and Heartbreak (Bailee’s Story)

    Bailee was raised as a pastor's kid in the Pentecostal church, where speaking in tongues, prophecies, and miraculous healing were part of everyday life. She was taught that God always wants to heal, so when her father was diagnosed with cancer, her family fully expected a miracle. After he passed away, she began to question some of the beliefs she had been taught. In this episode, we talk about growing up in the Word of Faith movement, the lasting impact of teachings on hell, her time at IHOP and Oral Roberts University, and what it looks like to embrace curiosity after years of having all the answers.     72. God Told Me To Marry Him (Ashley’s Story)

After attending youth camps as a teenager, she dove headfirst into evangelical Christianity and even encouraged her own parents to become more involved in church. Eventually, she found her way into charismatic Christianity, where she experienced speaking in tongues, witnessed healing miracles, and spent time as a missionary. But Ashley's story took a complicated turn when she met the man she believed God had chosen for her. Despite her doubts and a relationship filled with criticism, she felt convinced that God was telling her he would be her husband. She describes it as feeling almost like an arranged marriage by God.     71. Reclaiming Testify to Love (Michael Passons' Story)

    Michael Passons spent years as a member of Avalon, one of the most successful groups in Christian music. In this episode, he shares his journey from breaking into the industry and rising to fame, to navigating life as a gay man in a world that taught him his sexuality needed to be changed. Michael opens up about undergoing conversion therapy, the impact it had on his mental health, and the pressure of trying to reconcile his faith with his identity. We also talk about what happened when Michael was ultimately removed from Avalon, the grief of losing a career and community he loved, and the healing that followed. In the last few weeks, Michael rereleased Testify to Love with his close friends, reclaiming the song with an affirming message of inclusion and belonging.
