    Pull that severed head out of the aquarium and grab a pomegranate to take with you into the shower (seriously) because we're discussing Ken Hughes' Boston-set slasher Night School (1981)! Join us as we go all in on this forgotten film, from its original title of Terror Eyes (get it?) to its notorious status as a video nasty. And on top of everything, it's got a predatory lesbian character to boot! Starring a perfectly cast Sophie Sloan as a young girl who hires a nameless hitman (Mads Mikkelsen) to kill the monster under her bed, this is a throwback to classic gateway horror films from the Amblin era. Plus: Sigourney Weaver (and her gun heels), praise for balancing so many genres/tones, homages aplenty, and a new reason to get excited about The Vampire Lestat (hint: it's Sheila Atim). Questions?     Jumanji (1995)

    Grab those dice, Sonny Jim! Roll with the punches and and pray they read 5 or 8 because we're talking Joe Johnston's original gateway horror creature feature Jumanji (1995) for its 30th anniversary, or as it could also be called: 'Daddy Issues: The Movie'. Join us as we go all in on the film that made Trace a fan of creature features to begin with. From its dark tone (especially when compared to the newer Jumanji films) to its scary imagery (will anything be more terrifying that watching little Alan Parrish get sucked into the game?), they just don't make kids' movies like this anymore! Plus, animatronics vs. CGI, the "cruel torture" subjected to actor Bradley Pierce during the production, our many, many issues with the ending, and why the film needs more Bebe Neuwirth. CORRECTIONS: Trace makes 2 errors in this episode: Christopher Daniel Barnes (Greg in the Brady Bunch movies), voices Prince Eric in The Little Mermaid, not Aladdin in Aladdin.Laura Bell Bundy did not win "Legally Blonde: The Musical: The Search for Elle Woods".     Chronicle (2012)
