We’re living in an age of uncertainty , the environmental crisis, the rise of extremism, the housing crisis and war is raging in many parts of the world and this year. Dr Paul D’Alton, Associate Professor of Psychology at UCD, is back with us for the final of his four part series to help us navigate this age of uncertainty.

Special European Council meeting is being held today and tomorrow in Brussels. The Iran/Israel conflict and the Gaza humanitarian crisis will dominate discussions as will the recent warnings by Ukranian President Zelensky that Ukraine will lose the war if more funding does not come through. We hear from Minister Jennifer Carroll MacNeill in Brussels.

Two mothers who lost their sons in road traffic accidents in the north are calling for progress on road safety upgrades and education programmes. It comes as road deaths in the north hit their highest level in eight years, with 71 people dying last year and 17 people dying so far this year. Reporter Una Kelly has been speaking to those mothers.

Recent annual crime figures released by the Central Statistics Office show there was a increase in theft offences from shops last year. The retail industry says that there can also be assaults and abusive behavior towards retail staff To discuss this the bill's proposer Senator Malcolm Byrne and by CEO of Retail Excellence Ireland Jean McCabe.

The “Ennis 2040” Plan promises thousands of extra jobs, new houses and amenities - along with major retail and office developments – but some local residents and businesses are calling for a halt to what they describe as the destruction of their medieval history and Riverside Car parks.
