    Mark Humphries: the man who ruined TV news forever?

    When writer and comedian Mark Humphries joined the Seven Network earlier this year to host a satirical segment for the 6pm national news bulletin, the announcement was met with endless headlines and heated social media commentary. So why has three minutes of weekly television been the subject of so much debate?     Trying to be “hot” can be hell. Just ask Lucinda “Froomes” Price

    Lucinda Price, aka Froomes, grew up in the mid-2000s, when being hot was a commodity. As a teenager, the now well-known writer, comedian and presenter decided that hot was all she ever wanted to be. She even had her first cosmetic surgery procedure when she was 17. Now she has written her first book, All I Ever Wanted Was To Be Hot – part memoir and part social commentary, it dives into why pop culture makes women feel bad about their bodies. On today’s episode of Something To Talk About, Froomes joins Sarrah Le Marquand to discuss her experience of developing and then recovering from an eating disorder, the toxic impact of pop culture on young women and the current obsession with weight-loss injections.     Tim Minchin thinks we’re doing ambition all wrong

    Eleven years ago, Tim Minchin gave a speech that went viral. The Matilda The Musical composer, who was being awarded an honorary doctorate at The University of Western Australia, shared his nine life lessons with the graduating class – and to say it struck a chord with the world is to put it mildly. It has since clocked more than five million views.  Now he’s turned that speech into a book called You Don't Have To Have A Dream. He joins Sarrah Le Marquand in the studio to discuss luck, micro-ambition, the poison of social media, compassion and infidelity. It gets a bit philosophical, but the thing about Tim is, he bares his soul in everything he does.     Olympia Valance has some news…

    Late last year, Olympia Valance opened up about the difficulty she and her husband, former AFL player Thomas Bellchambers, encountered while trying to start a family. After a roller-coaster four years, which saw them experience multiple pregnancy losses and undergo IVF, Olympia decided to speak out because she wanted anyone else going through the same thing to feel less alone.  She was also getting to a point where she felt it might be time to close the door on trying to conceive.     Poolside in Paris with Cate Campbell on gender parity, the race of the century - and why being a spectator is HARD

    Cate Campbell competed as part of the Australian swimming team at four consecutive Olympics and has a haul of eight medals (four of them gold) to show for it. But this time around, she's at the Paris Games fulfilling a very different role.   On this episode of Something To Talk About, Cate joins host Sarrah Le Marquand poolside from Paris to talk about the bittersweet experience of shifting from athlete to commentator, and how her experience as an Olympic athlete gives her a unique appreciation for the hard work on display. Cate lays out why she believes the gender parity on display at the 2024 Games will inspire a new generation of athletes – both men and women – and shares her very personal and unique perspective on that race between Mollie O’Callaghan and Ariarne Titmus.     Celia Pacquola won’t be shaving her legs for the Logies. Here’s why

    Celia Pacquola has been busy.  She debuted her first live show in five years, I’m As Surprised As You Are; became the host of popular sketch comedy series Thank God You’re Here; starred in the Logie-nominated TV show Utopia; and – in between filming, writing and performing – she also had a baby.  On this episode of Something To Talk About, Celia joins host Sarrah Le Marquand to explain why she decided to host Thank God You’re Here, what it's like working with fellow comedian, on-screen co-star and off-screen best friend Luke McGregor, and the hilarious observations she made after she became a mother for the first time. She also shares what she's planning to wear to the Logies next month – let’s just say, Celia is going to make sure she won’t have to shave her legs.
