Can Warehouses Help With Supply Chain Disruption? A Chat With Richard Kirker

Can Warehouses Help With Supply Chain Disruption? A Chat With Richard Kirker

There's a whole lot of disruption happening in supply chain right now. Lots of talk about how ports are backed up, and what needs to happen there.

I was interested to know if other aspects of supply chain can help out as well, so I reached out to SAP's Solution Manager for warehouse management software Richard Kirker and asked him to come on the podcast to talk about the role of warehouses in this effort.

We had a great conversation spanning the role of warehouse software in helping with the current supply chain disruption, the role of automation in this, and how warehousing software helps with sustainability.  I learned loads, I hope you do too...

Crean Inc's Co-Founder And CTO James Crean Talks Smart Factories And Making The Complex Seem Simple

It has been a while since I had someone on the podcast talking smart factories, so I reached out to James Crean, Co-Founder, and CTO of Crean Inc, a company dedicated to smart factory transformation services.

We had a great conversation spanning minimising the pandemic's effects, tying operational efficiency to sustainability, and the growing tendency to reshoring.  I learned loads, I hope you do too...

SAP And Siemens Teamcenter Integration...What's That All About? A Chat With Gareth Webb

SAP And Siemens Teamcenter Integration...What's That All About? A Chat With Gareth Webb

In the manufacturing world, many organisations use software solutions from SAP, and Siemens.

In July of this year, we in SAP announced our road map to integrating our  solutions with Siemens' Teamcenter which showed that Phase 1 of that road map would launch in October of this year (2021).

To find out how the integration is proceeding, I invited the solution owner Gareth Webb to come on the podcast.

We had a great conversation spanning the reasons why this integration is needed, how it differs from any previous 3rd party integrations,  and where to from here for this solution.
I learned loads, I hope you do too...

Location Intelligence In Supply Chains - A Chat With ESP Logistics Technology CEO Jonathan Rosenthal

Location Intelligence In Supply Chains - A Chat With ESP Logistics Technology CEO Jonathan Rosenthal

With 35 years of experience in supply chain, Jonathan Rosenthal is the definition of an industry veteran.

CEO of Saybrook Management, and ESP Logistics Technology, as well as a strong background in the airline and utility industries, it is fair to say there is little Jonathan hasn't seen.

A strong proponent of the digitization of supply chains, he was an ideal guest for the podcast, and sure enough, he didn't disappoint.

We had a great conversation about the current disruptions in global supply chains, ways to resolve them (hint more data visibility), and where to from here for supply chains.
I learned loads, I hope you do too...

In the podcast, Jonathan referred to a 7-minute product demo video involving a helicopter. You can find it there here (but you will need to sign an NDA before you can get access).

Enabling Industry 4.0 With Smart Sensing - A Chat With Dominik Metzger

Enabling Industry 4.0 With Smart Sensing - A Chat With Dominik Metzger

My colleague Dominik Metzger, who has been on the podcast previously talking about Industry 4.0, wrote a fascinating article about how Smart Sensing Can Enable Industry 4.0.

I hadn't come across the term Smart Sensing before (in this context), so I was interested to know more. I invited Dominik to come on the podcast to tell us more, and thankfully he agreed.

We had a great conversation about what smart sensing is, some interesting use cases, and how smart sensing combined with IoT is a key enabler for Industry 4.0. I learned loads, I hope you do too...

Transportation CO2 Measurement In A Sustainable Supply Chain - A Chat With Tracks And Novigo

Transportation CO2 Measurement In A Sustainable Supply Chain - A Chat With Tracks And Novigo

There is an increasing requirement to measure and report on your carbon emissions. This is particularly difficult in complex ecosystems such as supply chains.

Two companies working to make this simpler are Novigo and Tracks. To find out more I invited Novigo VP Thorsten Schmidt, and Tracks founder and CEO Jakob Muus to  join me on the podcast to learn all about it.

We had a great conversation about measuring shipments' CO2 footprint, down to the individual package level, the value of certified CO2 data, and the increasing desire for this data from the market. I learned loads, I hope you do too...
