Liberating Minnie Mouse: The Yippie Invasion | Theme Park Time Machine

Liberating Minnie Mouse: The Yippie Invasion | Theme Park Time Machine

With Coronavirus infecting the whole world, and all Disney parks shut down indefinitely, many fans are reflecting on other times that the parks have closed unexpectedly. There have been natural disasters and threats to national security, and even a day of mourning for a slain president.
50 years ago, Disneyland shut down for a very different and very weird reason; because of the threat of counter-culture rabble rousers.
Adam explores the story behind this very odd little chapter of Disneyland history in this edition of Theme Park Time Machine.

Avengers Campus, & Theme Parks (Temporarily) Cancelled

For lack of a less terrifying way to say it, thanks to Coronavirus, Virtually every major theme park on earth is closed. Until the end of March...at least. Coronavirus is here, and will likely get worse before it gets better. That’s the bad news.
In slightly more positive, less pandemic-y news… Avengers Campus is coming to Disney California Adventure. Jack and Albie break down what we know today on Theme Park Pulse!

BREAKING: Disneyland Resort to close over coronavirus!

BREAKING: Disneyland Resort to close over coronavirus!

The Disneyland Resort will close March 14 until at least the end of the month. Details are scant at this point but what we do know is that this is a precaution as coronavirus sweeps across California. Many are working from home in the state, and public gatherings have been cancelled.
There is, at the time, no known connection between the coronavirus and Disneyland.
We're watching this breaking story and will have an update tomorrow on Theme Park Pulse!

We're All On The Same Blip | Theme Park Time Machine

We're All On The Same Blip | Theme Park Time Machine

To us, the idea of humans travelling into space is kind of just...business as usual. If you’re listening to this, chances are pretty good that men and women have been venturing into space your whole life. In the Mid 1950s, though, this was strictly the realm of science fiction.
Uncle Walt used to come into our homes each week and lead families into one of three realms. For this episode of Theme Park Time Machine, the destination is tomorrow, and into the vast reaches of our solar system. What is Disney's real-life connection to outer space?
