    A Few Good Men Holds Up Great (Ep 101)

    This week we rewatched A Few Good Men and dove into why, despite its questionable legal accuracy, it remains one of our all-time favorite films. We break down Aaron Sorkin’s razor-sharp dialogue, the incredible courtroom tension, and the powerhouse performances that make this movie endlessly rewatchable. It may not be a perfect depiction of military law, but it is one of the best-written and most entertaining dramas ever put on screen, and we loved talking through why it still holds up today.

    my boi frank (Frankenstein 2025)

    This week we reviewed Frankenstein (2025), Guillermo del Toro’s long-awaited take on the classic story: and it did not disappoint. We talk about the film’s stunning visuals, its emotionally rich interpretation of the source material, and how del Toro brings both beauty and tragedy to every frame. Oscar Isaac and Jacob Elordi deliver standout performances that elevate the film’s exploration of creation, responsibility, and humanity. A bold, haunting, and gorgeously crafted adaptation that gave us a lot to dig into.

Braden was thrilled just to see PTA behind the camera again, while Micah wasn’t impressed by the opening and felt it dragged the rest of the movie down. We break down where we feel the film struggles, where it's still great, and what (if anything) it’s actually trying to say politically. From expectations to execution, we dig into the filmmaking, the messaging, and whether this one earns all the buzz.

    My wife refused to re-watch this for years...

    For this Halloween season, we finally sat down to watch Gone Girl: a movie Micah had refused to see for years after it freaked her out as a young adult. And wow, was it worth the wait. In this episode, we talk about how David Fincher’s masterful direction keeps the suspense tight and the pacing sharp, making a long movie feel surprisingly short. We also praise the incredible performances and explore why Gone Girl remains one of the most gripping psychological thrillers of the 2010s.
