I am a fan of the show, but I was dissappointed with the one dimentional representation of prostitution policy in episode 740.
Prostitution is a societal problem that affects negatively especially women, girls, sexual, gender and other minority groups. People buying sex are the ones with power, status and money. Lack of social security and policies that support equality (housing, jobs, education etc. ) is also a factor that drives people to selling sex and keeps them in prostitution.
Reducing prostitution is an important, yet complicated, goal. The measures should be aimed at those gaining from prostitution and those buying sex. People selling sex should receive support and should not be prosecuted. There will always be persons who will tell measures meant to make buying sex, procuring and trafficking more difficult, made their livelihood of selling sex more scarce, this does not necessarily mean the measures were ill-adviced. I guess I would have hoped a more societal view in representig this issue, which admittedly is a complicated one.
Listening from Finland. I wait each week for a new episode. Just love the tone of the show and the quality of the stories.
