    Bridging Cancer Care and Heart Health: A New Clinical Practice Statement for Cardio-Oncology

    The Multinational Association of Supportive Care in Cancer (MASCC) and IC-OS jointly published a paper titled: “Prevention and management of cardiovascular disease in adults with cancer: an International Cardio-Oncology Society (IC-OS) and Multinational Association of Supportive Care in Cancer (MASCC) clinical practice statement”. This is a critical contribution to the literature because it was produced by and for the hematology/oncology community. Historically, cardio-oncology has been dominated by cardiologists. We are seeking to address this by working closely with the hematology/oncology community on various projects including publications.     Cardio-Oncology Spotlight: Joshua Levenson, A Novel Risk Score for ICI Myocarditis

    Joshua Levenson MD is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He studied Chemistry at Amherst College followed by medicine at the University of Pittsburgh and internal medicine residency at The University of Michigan. He returned to the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center for Cardiology Fellowship prior to joining faculty in 2017. Dr Levenson is a noninvasive cardiologist, cardiac imager, and clinician educator. He serves as Director of UPMC’s Center for Cardio-Oncology, co-Director of Noninvasive at UPMC Shadyside, and Associate Director of UPMC’s Cardiology Fellowship.

    Dr. Suvro Banerjee is a distinguished Cardiologist based in Kolkata, West Bengal, with an impressive experience of 26 years in the field of cardiology. Holding multiple prestigious qualifications including MBBS, MD, MRCP, FRCP, FICC, FCSI, FESC, FACC, and FSCAI. As a testament to his leadership and dedication to the field, he has held several notable positions, including Secretary of the Cardiological Society of India, West Bengal Branch, from 2017 to 2019, and has actively participated in multiple organizations such as the West Bengal Academy of Echocardiography and the Royal College of Physicians in Edinburgh. Dr. Michael Fradley is an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Division of Cardiology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and Medical Director of the Thalheimer Center for Cardio-Oncology. He trained at Yale University, Johns Hopkins University, and Massachusetts General Hospital. His clinical and research interests focus on arrhythmic complications of cancer therapies. He currently serves as President of the International Cardio-Oncology Society (IC-OS).
