What did we learn?
Head units for your wrist and Groenewegen’s suspension
Just to make sure you all listening are paying attention, we flipped the script for this week's CyclingTips podcast.
To kick it off, James introduces the gang to the new Wahoo Element Rival, a watch that is a head unit for your wrist. The talk turns to why cyclists aren't more interested in such an item, and the importance of heart rate monitoring in training. Per-usual, Shoddy misses the good old days.
Next, a discussion of Chloé Dygert and Canyon//SRAM's statements over the weekend regarding equality in bike racing, and doing better in the future.
And finally, a mini-season in review. From Grand Tours to the women's (lack-of) calendar, the gang chats about some of the major themes of the season, culminating in the suspension of Dylan Groenewegen.
Full-face road helmets are the future
In today's episode of the CyclingTips podcast, Dane does a final rundown of the racing news. The Vuelta proved to be yet another exciting finale to a Grand Tour, so the gang discusses the contenders, the action, and more.
Abby wraps up the Ceratizit Challenge by La Vuelta, which ended in an exciting race for bonus seconds.
Chloe Dygert makes a guest appearance to talk about her new team for the next four years and how she's feeling after the World Championships.
And finally, James spent the entire podcast in a full-face helmet just for Nerd Alert. The discussion turns to whether or not full-face helmets are the future of road cycling.
This week's episode is brought to you by NOBL wheels and their new lightweight road and gravel wheels.
What Tour de France 2021 stages are we already excited about?
With some exciting Vuelta a España stages behind us, and some interesting Tour de France stages announced over the weekend, we've got a lot to chat about in this episode. Not to mention all the transfers we've neglected while racing was full gas!
Plus, James has some thoughts about...cardboard...
Tao Geoghegan Hart as a 15-year-old
In this week's episode, we discuss the finale of the Giro d'Italia over the weekend, with a special appearance by the former Axeon Hagen's Berman soigneur, Reed McCalvin. Briefly, the Vuelta is discussed, as well as De Panne, the end of the one-days, and the end of the Boels-Dolmans Cycling Team.
For Nerd Alert, James has thoughts about the skinsuit seen on Tao Geoghegan Hart on the final day of the Giro and a pair of new Oakley's seen on Chris Froome at the Vuelta.
The TCRcast: Chatting with the engineers behind the Giant TCR
Giant’s ninth-generation TCR family follows in the footsteps of other major players in the industry in that it now adds a generous dose of aerodynamic shaping to its previously light-and-stiff formula.
We sat down with two of the engineers behind the bike for a deep dive on its creation.

Great cycling podcast, lesser great when it comes to food
Cyclingtips is always insightful and provides great thought on cycling related things.
Though, and I’m referring to episode « a better Liege », you guys have a lot to do regarding you food insights ! You presented Tour de Romandie prologue and Neuchatel as a city in Switzerland from where the famous cheese of the same name is from. This is an offense 🤦🏻♂️
The famous cheese is spelled Neufchâtel and in from Normandie, in France 🤬
Neuchatel, Neufchatel, Romandie, Normandie 🤣
I guess this deserves public apologies 😘
OMG Abbey Mickey is super annoying,do not let this woman anywhere near new Nerd alertpodcast please
