Czech Your Day

Renča

Czech Your Day is a daily podcast that helps foreigners really understand and learn Czech through weekly topics. Each episode of the week gets you one step closer to understanding Friday's episode - the story. Renča shows not only the "textbook version" of Czech, but also the "real-life Czech" (that means the way Czech people speak at home or with their friends). Yes, that's exactly what foreigners struggle with - being able to have a normal conversation with your Czech friends and colleagues. Renča also shares her tips and tricks that will help you on your learning journey. Keep listening and you will realize that your Czech is definitely getting better 😉  You can find transcripts/handouts from each episode on Renča's website CZECH-ME.COM.

    Renee’s Diary | A2 Journey – Part 5: What Can Change in 6 Weeks?

Send Renča a text 😉 Renee had spent 10 months taking individual 90-minute Czech lessons with one goal: to prepare for her A2 exam. But as the exam was getting closer, she realised she wasn’t ready. That’s when she contacted me. And we had just six weeks. When we started working together, it became clear that we weren’t simply filling a few gaps or doing final exam practice. There were important foundations missing, and in many ways, we had to start from the beginning. Now those six weeks are over. And Renee has taken the exam. So… what happened? In Part 5 of Renee’s Diary | A2 Journey, we sit down after the exam and talk about what happened on exam day — but also about something much bigger. What can really change in six weeks? What surprised Renee about the way she had been learning Czech before? What does she think about her Czech now? And after 10 months of individual lessons followed by six very different weeks… what did this experience teach her about learning a language? This isn’t just a story about passing or failing an exam. It’s a story about what progress can actually look like. Listen to Renee tell it in her own words. Want to experience Czech differently? Renee spent these six weeks working with Czech inside the Czech Your Day Community and through our intensive A2 preparation. If you’ve been learning Czech for months — maybe even years — but still feel that what you study isn’t becoming Czech you can actually use, you can explore the Community and discover a different way of experiencing the language. 34°C… and We Went Sledding?! ❄️ | A2 Czech Story

Send Renča a text 😉 It was August. It was 34°C. A perfect hot summer day in the Czech Republic. So how did I end up riding on SNOW? ❄️😄 In today's A2 Czech Story, I'm taking you with me on a little trip to the Krkonoše mountains. What can you practise with this story?  verbs of movement in context  the Czech past tense  useful vocabulary for trips and the mountains  everyday phrases and useful word combinations  following a Czech story without understanding every word You'll also hear a few words that may be above A2. That's intentional. They make the story sound more natural — and the story is carefully built to give you enough context to guess what they mean and keep following what is happening. Your challenge? Don't try to translate every word. Listen, follow the story and notice how much you can understand from the context. And don't stop at listening. At the end, I'll ask you a few questions. Try to answer them in Czech. Even one simple sentence counts. Listen. Understand. Produce. Don't study Czech. Experience it.  👉 You can find the Czech transcript + English translation here: Snow in August?! – Czech transcript & English translation Would you like more support with your Czech? Inside the Czech Your Day Community, we take stories like this one further — with extra practice, visual materials and activities that help you move from understanding Czech to actually using it. Just 15 minutes. Come back tomorrow. Keep building your Czech.
