And if you haven't heard of him, you've almost definitely heard of the term he coined; "enshittification" - the glorious experience of platform decay in tech. Corey joins the show ahead of a weekend of talks about his latest book The Reverse Centaur’s Guide to Life After AI: How to think about artificial intelligence before it's too late. We dive deep into the mechanics of "enshittification," the damage of the power imbalance between tech conglomerates and people, the distrust of corporations and government bodies, and the blind trust of governments in these private companies who are taking our private information and making money off it. Doctorow dismantles the corporate narrative that frames tech dominance as inevitable, explaining how market concentration strips dignity from workers, ruins consumer experiences, and cripples government regulation. From the "reverse centaur" dynamic of labor under automation to actionable operational security advice, Doctorow delivers an insightful, sharp, and hopeful roadmap for reclaiming control of our digital future.
