Arizona AG on the future of Flock

More and more communities are pushing back against the use of Flock cameras by law enforcement. Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes is reviewing the automated license plate readers and shares what she hopes to learn. Then, as the United States Postal Service plans to implement President Trump’s executive order on mail-in voting, an anonymous federal official is blowing the whistle. The report says the implementation plan is “rushed” and “untested.” Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.), who sent a letter to the postmaster general raising alarms, explains more. The hidden death toll from extreme heat

New FDA-approved drug offers hope in pancreatic cancer treatment

The Food and Drug Administration approved a new medication to treat pancreatic cancer. In trials, it extended the survival rate of patients by a median of 13.2 months. Dr. Brian Wolpin from the Dana Farber Cancer Institute explains how the drug works and what it could mean for the future of cancer treatment. Then, a recent study found that at least a quarter of former NFL players who died had chronic traumatic encephalopathy, or CTE. Chris Nowinski, CEO of the Concussion Legacy Foundation shares more about the findings and how they could impact the upcoming football season. And, in Nepal, first responders are searching for survivors after a massive flash flood killed at least 300 people. And, Meta has to pay $17 billion in a settlement with a number of U.S. states over intentionally getting teenagers addicted to Instagram and Facebook. Trump is trying to restrict mail-in voting. Will it matter in the midterms?

The conservative majority on the U.S. Supreme Court sided with President Trump’s executive order to tighten rules around mail-in voting. Rick Hasen, director of the Safeguarding Democracy Project, explains how the battle over these ballots could influence midterm elections. Then, a powerful storm knocked out power for hundreds of thousands of people in Indiana. The outage is adding to their concerns about a planned data center that would rely on power from the local utility company. Hobart, Indiana, resident Angelita Soriano, who is part of a lawsuit against the approval process for the data center, shares her perspective. And, researchers have found that nearly half of autistic children are prone to wandering.
