You get stuck in a toxic cycle of believing the incident was isolated and won't happen again but most of the time, it does. And it continues to get worse. You have to protect yourself and leave these situations ASAP. The pain of leaving hurts a lot less than the pain of staying. Love yourself enough to give yourself a better future because it's out there and it's waiting on you.  "Domestic abuse is typically manifested as a pattern of abusive behavior toward an intimate partner in a dating or family relationship, where the abuser exerts power and control over the victim. I'm willing to bet it's too often. We often give the easy "yes" instead of the difficult "no" which leads to overcommitting our time, energy, and finances. In this episode, we discuss the guilty feelings we get as a mom, an employee, a friend, etc... and how to navigate through them. Saying no to things you don't want to do allows you to say yes to a ton of other things you really care about. Value your own time, priorities, and finances.
